Hey guys, I just purchased a Marlin 60SB and a Sig 522 SWAT

i was wondering what you guys would recommend for each? I'm thinking a scope on the Marlin and red dot for the SIG.

I really don't want to spend too much and go into eotech territory here which I'm assuming rimfire rifles don't really need.

I put a Mueller 4.5-14x40mm AO scope (http://www.opticsplanet.net/mueller-optics-4-5-14x40mm-ao-apv-rifle-scope.html) on my marlin 795 that I picked up from the forum that works great. Might be a little overkill but when I finally get a bolt action I'll probably move it over to that.
This one gets good reviews and is a bit cheaper: http://www.opticsplanet.net/simmons-22-mag-3-9x32mm-ao-rimfire-rifle-scopes-w-rings.html
You are going to want a scope with an adjustable objective (AO) if you plan on shooting at close range (~25yrds)
I have a cheapo barska red dot that I'm going to try out on my Sig 522 when I get it. No need to go too crazy

what about this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Barska-AC10380-BARSKA-Plinker-22-Riflescope/dp/B001JJCHWK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302918621&sr=8-1

Comes with dovetail rings which should work with the marlin 60SB I believe.

Just picked up that one myself for a marlin 795 I just got. It seems like a pretty solid unit, but haven't had a chance to get any range time with it.

I have a sig 522 and I have a primary arms m4 red dot that I use on it. It works great. It only cost about $80 with the mounting rings and the guys that work there are really helpful if you have any questions. I have been to the range with it twice and I love it. It has stayed zeroed and overall is really nice. I would definitely recommend it.

I'm assuming you mean this one?

Thanks for the link. Looks like they have great price on the black dog magazines too!

Silver would match the 60SB nice. The rings It comes with are dovetail right? If I wanted to use the scope for my 522 I'm assuming I'd need to get another set of scope rings?

so many choices for red dots....
any other recommendations for accessories for either?

Primary Arms holds up well on .556's. Shouldn't be a problem with 22's.

hmmm was thinking M4 primary arms with the 3x magnifier and side mount.....
but then it starts getting expensive with the magnifier!

I second the APV, its a great piece of glass for the price

and you simply can't go wrong with it.

Third. The APV is great. I have had one on a tricked out 10/22 and its been a joy to use. Really nice for the money. I have about two years use on it and its held up great, as nice as the day I got it.

These are pretty awesome for the price. Got mine at WallyWizzle for $39 and mounted it on my M1 Carbine. Holds zero and let's me make hold in the same place over and over again. If it can handle the recoil of my M1, it should be fine a .22.

The price sure is right.........

Starting to wonder if I would have enjoyed the additional zoom of the Mueller, but I think 2-9x should be adequate for 100yrds no?

Got this one.

Image gets blurry at the high magnification which I don't use much because of the movement. Good enough up to 100 yards.

I think the red dot would cover the entire target at that distance?

well, got a grippod for the 522 and getting MBUS Gen2 for it as well... all that's left is the red dot and if I want to invest in a magnifier as well... or just get a scope...

Get the primary arms, you can take it off and use it on a 223/556 rifle and still be accurate & precise at those distances.

I already got an eotech for my 223, however I'm lazy and don't like resighting every time I switch so I want to get a dedicated one for the 522.

If that's the main benefit of the primary arms red dots, might be wiser to go with the tasco red dot and save some cash....

Running the Primary Arms on my 522 swat and love it. Came with 2 extra batteries too. Ran a true-glo for a while as well and both are holding up fine after 4k rounds.
Should probably mention that my PA red dot took a hit of some sort and left a nice ding right up top that messed my zero up a little, not sure what that means for quality.

Primary Arms M3. The dot is clearer on it than on my Aimpoint.

Lots of primary arms recommendations. Anyone try the magnifier combo with the M3 or M4 Dots?

Also anyone recommend the tube fed speedloaders?
