I think not CA compliant due to only being in the 25 round capacity initially. Once it comes out I think there's a few merchants out there willing to swap it for the 10 rnd. But yeah it's basically the same 522 variant with a fake can.

....... I forgot about that the can is detachable maybe? I guess you'd have to get someone to weld it too.

Why would you need to weld the can?
Only makes sense if the rifle would be an SBR otherwise. Contrary to SIG and what folks think, threaded barrels on rifles are 100% legal in Ca

Detachable fake supressor is completely legal as long as you meet the barrel length and overall length requirements.

I'm 100% sure its ok. Most of my rifles have threaded barrels. If you have a mag lock you can even have it on a pistol.

For some reason this forum seems to be always really behind on the laws...

Of course you are correct...Kel-Tec SU-16CA has a threaded barrel

oh well, I suppose I can always buy a fake can if I really wanted one and stick it on my 522 swat...... sounds like a good way to make it heavier...

almost every AR, AK, M1A, FAL, HK91 the list is endless....

why a big company like SIG cant figure this out for the CA market is beyond me. But hey, most of the FFLs and gun owners cant either.

I agree with MrPlink, with a HUGE market like California its dumbfounding why the big-wig manufacturers continue to ignore our strict compliance issues. All the non-restricted states can continue to bash us and say "move to ____" but realistically that's not a practical solution.

Can't imagine the thinking involved of the decision makers for these companies who forgo the millions of dollars in lost revenue for CA consumers.

I recently bought the Sig 522 classic for the sake of CA-compliance. Modifying to my specific preference is a choice and if I want the SWAT (CA compliant) or Commando-style, I'll have to do it with or without the manufacturers assistance. Sure would be nice to "buy it" that way (and would be much more convenient for some) but personally... where's the fun in that?

looks like these have finally started coming out. I think yzernie has the 10rnd one up in the commercial market. Too bad I already bought the swat version though.
