Yes, I just spent an hour using the 'search' function,... and zippo. { except for OOS C&R purchases being done on a BCIA 4100A}

OK ,...someone builds a pistol from a demilled kit. It has a zero shot sled and a B/B and the barrel is over 7.5".
He knows he is not required to reg it ,but as a cancer survivor he wants to make sure his wife can sell it when he is at room temperature.
[just planning ahead]
The pistol is stamped with ALL the required info and .015 deep with 1/8" letters.
.
What is the correct form # to submit to DOJ to register this pistol ?

Thanks in advance.

You do not need to register a home made pistol . You can manufacture your own firearms as long as you do not manufacture them for sales. If you buy a pistol from a FFL it needs to be registered . If you owned a pre 89 pistol your not forced to register it. California is not a forced to register state. You do not need to serialize your home made pistol or rifler this is a option for identification for law enforcement in case it was ever stolen for recovery.

No need to register so that the wife can sell it that I know of. It doesn't have to be registered by the seller before selling, the buyer just has to register when purchasing.

I know the form is volreg.pdf on the doj website but don't know a number off the top off my head. Just google "ca doj volreg" and it will be easy to find.

Oh wait, the wiki... :D

In any case, it was my understanding that the handgun only have serial number and such to be sold, not registered...

Thanks in advance.most of the CADOJ forms can be found on the DOJ website, http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/ and then click on the "forms and publications" link, this is the form you'd want to use, http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/volreg.pdf
