What are these permits all about?
The Utah Concealed Firearm Permits allow the holder to carry upon their person a concealed firearm for personal protection purposes. The state of Utah issues these permits to anyone in any state that meet the requirements. There is NO need to have a specific reason, Utah is shall-issue states meaning as long as the minimum requirements are met, they will issue. Moreover, Utah does NOT require you to qualify with a firearm. Additionally, you can carry any legally owned firearm! There are no restrictions unlike many other states!

*To apply for the Florida permit, a range trip is required, immediately following the class, those that wish to obtain a Florida training certificate will meet me at a local range to properly discharge a firearm and show safe handling techniques. All range fees are to be paid by the student.

The Arizona permit can be obtained simply by applying and providing a copy of your Utah CCW.

What are the Minimum Requirements?
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
- Proof of good character...whereas the applicant;
- has not been convicted of a felony;
- has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use of narcotics or other controlled substances;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
- has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been withdrawn or reversed.

It's a very simple, straight forward process! Complete the class, and paperwork and in 60 days, you'll have your CCW permit good in 34 states!

THATS IT!

I can schedule classes anytime! I have a very flexible schedule and my goal is to provide classes that fit my students busy schedules. Give me a call with your availability, I will try to group you with a couple others and get a class going.

Classes are always scheduled for 4 hours, however, depending on the size of the class, and the amount of interactivity we generally get out early.

Do these classes not require range (Shooting)time?

Thats a great question sully07... No, you do not need to shoot to complete the Utah CFP class. Florida accepts the Utah training under this statute:

"Completion of any firearms safety or training course or class available to the general public offered by a law enforcement, junior college, college, or private or public institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified by the National Rifle Association, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, or the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services;

All Utah Certified Instructors must have either the Utah P.O.S.T or NRA Instructor training in addition to the standard Utah CFP instructor training.

If you have additional questions, please give me a call (909) 989-0223. Would be happy to chat with you about it. Thanks for the question!

For those that take my course, and would like to apply for the Florida permit as well, some GOOD NEWS!

Until August 1st, 2011 any Utah class that we teach, we will offer to meet at a local range immediately following the class so we can observe you safely handle and discharge your firearm, thereby satisfying the letter of the Florida statute 790.2. AT NO CHARGE!

However, range fees are the responsibility of the student.

Questions, give me a call or shoot me an email. (no pun intended)
