I'm looking to buy a sling for my 30-06. Its a Tikka T3 hunter with a walnut stock. I plan on using the gun for hunting and want to get a sling to assist in shooting off-hand/standing and toting the gun around in the field.

Anyone have a good recomendation on a sling that will work well ? I'm not hell bent on looks but it would be nice to get a sling that matches up with the gun, its a kinda classy lookin gun =)

I always liked the sued cobra sling that unlce mikes/butler creek makes. They look nice on a wood stock hunting rifle and they work pretty well.

My favorite sling is the Turner Saddlery National Match Sling. I buy their 2nds for about $35. If you like leather this is your sling. They have a Biothane version but it's not as nice as their leather version.

Thats one thing I was wondering about, leather vs a synthetic/nylon sling. I was worried that the leather would be too stiff at first and need some brake in.

I'll take a look at those slings you mentioned.
