The bug hit me hard a few months ago. I was originally going to build something basic and low cost, but I have a very addictive personality, especially for toys. This is what it yielded :43:

That's how I had it at first, but it totally gets in my left hand's way when holding the rifle up front with the AFG.

I dont find too many first builds to comment on but I gotta say you did it right IMO. With the exception of the AFG and the trigger guard that is lol :)

Good quality build. BTW, what do you think of the PWS buffer tube? Did you get the 7075, or the 6061? I might be buying a 6061 version....

I didn't even know a qd offset existed. I have the regular offset and like it. I bet the qd is even sweeter.

I didn't even know they had two different versions; not sure which I have to be honest.

After playing/building with my roomates AR with a standard buffer tube. I say the PWS buffer tube is much better and worth it IMO. I think it installs and uninstalls easier. I like the way it installs vs. a traditional tube. It feels lighter (off hand, but that may be a biased opinion ;) ) Does it reduce recoil? Maybe, probably not any measurable means from the feel of it. I also love the QD sockets built into it. I got the tube, the spring and the buffer for somewhere around $110. If you were to add a regular buffer tube kit with Spikes buffer and some kind of QD sling plate, you'd be spending pretty much teh same amount as the PWS kit. Plus, it looks cool!

Sweet! can i have it?

Can I haz $2k? :D

I don't see the QD version on too many builds around here, and I understand why cause it's pricey and overpriced. But I really like the Vltor mount due to where it places the light and also cause of it's looks. And for me a QD for the light was a must. So it was pretty much the only option out there.

I'm in the same boat too..was going to build something cheaper and with all the parts so far, I'm close to the 3k range. That's just for one and I have two more lowers that I'm going to make a 6.8 and 308. Good job by the way...can't wait til I get mines done so I can show it off too.

I had the Magpul BAD lever on my carbine and it kept coming loose even with thread lock so I went to the Phase 5 Tactical extended bolt release which was a little more involved as you have to replace the factory bolt release but it will never come loose and it works really well. Might want to check that out if you have the same issue. Looks good though, nice work.

I didn't know about the Phase 5 bolt release till after I had got the Magpul BAD. So far though, the Magpul has worked great. If it gets lose, I'll get the Phase 5 version.

Nice!

your afg seems to be really far forward, do you have 4 ft arms? also your iron sight seems to be lower than the optic from the picture.

The AFG seems to be in the perfect spot for me, and no I am not a lengthy guy. I don't hold it at the bottom of the AFG, I kinda grab the rifle by the left side, thumb kinda goes over the top of the top rail, index finger points forward.

The sights are set up in a 1/3 cowitness. But, I recently replaced the rear sight with a Troy flip down, like it much much better that way.

im sorry in advance....

I forgot who makes Muscle Milk, but I like the Chocolate flavor the most :)

Lighten it how?

Rings steel pretty very easy at 200 yards with irons. Was hitting 400 yards pretty easy with a PA 4-16 scope. But, I can do better, need to shoot and practice a ton more!

Thanks bro! What year M3 do you have?

BTW, the car makes over 700rwhp :D
