I was told that Remington will be offering a 20" version of the 5R milspec for 2011.

I am trying to find info on this... like a model number would be helpful?

I know its hard to find information on this rifle since it's uncatalogued.

Thanks

News to me. But it's good seeing rifle companies are ditching the useless 26" and 24" rifles when the 20's will do the job.

Tag for interest.

what I've read about 5R is pretty much good all around. I want one in .308 pretty bad.

Well this new....... I called Remington about 1 to 1 1/2 ago and they said that its not something that is being done by Remington. I guess people change. I will be nice to see how it will preform.

5R shmivar, my $525 dollar SPS-V shoots 1/2 -3/4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with handloads. With its un freefloated non bedded crap stock.

5R i would buy if it was mike rock, bartlein, obeymeyer etc. (spelling?)

With hand loads you will be surprised !

Yesterday I was out with a buddy and I was trying out my RL-15 .308 loads with 175 SMK with no pressure issue what so ever. I was able to push them 2600 and over with 44.0 gr up to 44.8. Shorter barrels with the right reload can hit 1000 with no issues.
