I am the soon to be proud owner of a new Lilja 20 inch stainless steel barrel. I have been trying to put my AR together for a few years now. Sucks not being independently wealthy, it gets in the way of having fun.  I should have my AR done in a few weeks, when the rest of the parts are delivered. I will post once it is done.

I did not want the threads on the end of the muzzle and I do not want to install a muzzle brake or flash suppressor. Lilja just ran a batch of AR barrels. It would be another six months for them to run another batch and they do not do smith work. Can any tell me if there are any local (San Jose/SF Bay Area) gunsmiths that do barrel work? I want the threads removed and the end crowned. Lilja recommended Tom Miller outside of Oroville. I talked to him and he is a great guy, with great prices. However, it is a 4 hour, one way trip to his place. He does not do mail. It is long story regarding that. Since this is an expensive barrel, at least to me, I would like to get recommendations on people that have used a quality barrel smith. Otherwise, I am off to Oroville in a few weeks.

Thanks,

Just Bill
