For now I'm looking for a standard Mark III and wanted to see if there were any stores in the bay area that sell these for a decent price (too bad we don't have Turner's up here). Bud's gun shop has some great prices but with transfer fees and some places charging shipping the costs may be about the same. Any suggestions?

ETA: Looks like Bud's has a 22/45 for $259. Any thoughts about this firearm?

If your local FFL doesn't charge an arm for their transfer you might be saving a little cash through bud's, pull all the FFL's up your willing to drive to and call them and find out what they charge and go from there

I almost bought the Ruger, but instead got my Neos. Check out Target Masters - I remember the Mk III being in my budget.

Just talked to Larry Hamby of Security Six and he says he gets lots of stuff cheap. Also check Irvington Arms in Fremont. They get pretty close to online if you consider dealer transfer fees.

I think it's too far for you to drive, plus toll fees, but Triple A Sports in Vallejo (Calgunner) and Center Mass (Calgunner) in Vacaville offer competitive prices.

Darn! I usually stop by there but never look at their gun prices because historically they've been pretty high. Bud's Gun shop has them for $278. With transfer fees and such Reed's is pretty much the same price as Bud's.

About two weeks ago I saw one at City Arms in Pacifica. I didn't look at the price as I already have a MKIII.

+1 for City Arms in Pacifica. They always seem to have a good selection of mark III and 22/45s at reasonable prices. Not sure about their Contra Costa Co store but I've heard good things.

I was in the PH store tonight & they had a couple MKIII's. But I didn't know then you would need a price check! Sorry!

I picked up a an old S&W 15, BTW! :D

Got my Mk3 target at Reeds. Don't bother with Bay Area Gun Vault.

Irvington Arms had great prices, but didn't have the model I want. Check with them and they may be able to order you something.

Just came from Target Masters. They had a 22/45 4.5" (bull) BBL w/ adj sights for $296.

If Reed's has a MKIII 5.5" for $300, that seems like a very good deal. I'm in the market for one as well and will pass by Reed's on the way home.

EDIT: I haven't finished reading the FAQ for the site, but if it's poor etiquette to post local prices, please let me know and I'll take them down.

There are so many models of MKIII and 22/45 MKIII. But the one listed by the OP wasn't the one I inquired about. I don't know the price of the 22/45. With the exact same configuration as the OP but in a MKIII, I wasn't able to it find for less that $369 among Reed's, Target Master's, and Gun Vault.
