So... no one has these in stock, and there's talk of a group buy?

I looked into the Viper PST 6x24x50 FFP two weeks ago. Online chat with OpticsPlanet reveals that it's a 4 week wait... but there's already a waiting list, so that's really more like a 6 month wait (this is what online chat with Optics Planet dude tells me).

So I email Liberty Optics. He's saying 3 to 4 months wait for an FFP. It's more like a 3 to 4 week wait for a SFP.

It'll be interesting to see whether this group buy gets off the ground... who plans to supply the stuff... and how long people end up waiting.

As a semi-benchmark, swfa has this for 849.95

If I can get one of these : Viper PST 1-4x24, TMCQ MOA Reticle,
at a good price I may be in...let me know
Swfa's at 499.95.

I'm a probable joiner on the 1-4x24.

Opticsplanet pricing is within a buck on both scopes.

Let us know.;)

Good point. A buddy was in a group buy for an ACOG back in May of last year. After getting the run around for months, he decided to drop out. Last we heard, there were people still waiting on the scope.

Question is 8% or 16% off of what and whos price. On their site it shows savings of 17% down to $899 for the 6x24ffp, that is what everyones is selling it at. So is it going to be 8% - 16% off of that price?

I'm in for a Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 FFP moa. I just got the 4x16x50 FFP MOA but looking to get another for my 308. Hopefully the price will be cheaper than what I paid for the 4x16.

I didn't oder it yet for the same fear that we might not get the credits. But you didn't mention Adam's group buy like the OP mentioned. I wonder if that makes a difference?? Maybe Stephanie thought you were talking about a different group buy. Hopefully this group buy will come through.

So, basically, Vortex doesn't want anyone to purchase their product. Fine by me! Say goodbye to this potential customer. I'd rather give my money to a company that actually wants it. Like Leupold. Thanks for making my decision so much easier, Vortex.

Ak707
04-14-2011, 6:02 PM
I'm kind of disappointed in vortex myself honestly. I'm pretty confident there would have been a good amount of calgunners purchasing a vortex a vortex scope thru this group buy.

AlliedArmory
04-17-2011, 4:37 AM
I am always looking for good deals myself as a Dealer and Buyer. It sounds like Vortex doesn't want the price to be hoarded out as the scopes are still in high demand. They do have a MAP price and they seem to be flying off the shelves anyways. MAP prices are good as it keeps the resale value up and Dealers actually make some money.
