Seemed like a while ago everyone had 5.56 and .308 projectiles from surplus ammo. And they were cheap. Where'd they all go? Where are you buying them from?

If you call up Dustin at Ammo Brothers, you can get some new projectile prices that're actually quite competitive with surplus projectile prices.

But, here's one supplier of surplus projectiles: http://www.gibrass.com/projectiles.html

I would be interested in some cheap projectile places, though, to list on my reloading-shopping reference page. I've got cheap places for most things, just not projectiles (other than Grafs).

I spent $54.28 shipped for 1200 55gr 223 projectiles when they had a sale a while back. A C&R license and dealer discount were involved.

Anyway, my own reloading-places list is below:

Polygunbag has "premium plus" 152gr .308 diameter AP bullets for 25˘ each in quantity. I tried cutting through one with a giant (2 foot long handles) pair of bolt cutters. The copper jacket came right off, but the hardened steel penetrator inside didn't even have a mark on it. These are pulled surplus bullets, but the "premium plus" grade ones look brand new to me. They also have premium grade for a bit less money.

Polygunbag also has some ball, soft point and match .308 bullets and some AP .223 bullets.

I won't mention all of the other cool bullets (incendiary, tracer) they have available, since we can't buy those here in California. :(

They are really nice folks to deal with on the phone.
