Sad commentary. Interesting comment half way thru on how govt plans to disarm their public despite rejection of an all out ban by voters...

Notice he did all this without hi-cap mags or a "assault weapon".
Two revolvers, illegally obtained by a nutcase. Everything he did
was against the law, yet what's their solution, pass more laws.
Makes sense to me.

So it's not just our public officials that live in a dream world.........

Nothing new or surprising here. "Never let a serious crisis go to waste" is not just an American theme.

Yup, disarming everyone makes total sense, cuz if nobody has guns to steal then there will be no illegal guns! Why didn't WE think of that HERE!!!!! These ppl MUST be intellectuals!

"Brazil already has strict gun laws."
"Anyone wanting to buy a gun must be at least 25, pass a psychological test, prove they need the weapon, have no criminal record, and provide proof that they attended courses on handling guns."
"Antigun groups estimate there are 16 million guns in Brazil — half of them illegal."
Brazilian gun control, effectively disarming the law abiding citizen today for a bigger victim filled tomorrow. Think the slogan will sell?

I read that they had a major shooting maybe 8 years ago, and public polls at the time favored a nationwide handgun ban. That is, until the NRA and other groups started running ads and the numbers switched to 65% AGAINST the ban(and the ban was voted down). Just goes to show when people put their emotions down for a minute and think, they realize just creating more laws is not the answer.

And, in this morning's news, another nutter shooter, this time in Holland. One of many news stories:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/top/all/7514758.html

They already have pretty strict laws there, too.

Expect the outcry to start soon, to ban everything.

It's not about gun control. It's about people control -- thems in control wants total control over thems who's not in control. Wants them to be completely dependent on Mother State for everything including personal protection. Police didn't arrive in time? Too bad; just be assured that Society is better off even if you're not.

Interesting:

"There also have been two assassinations in the past decade, the 2002 killing of right wing politician Pim Fortuyn by an animal rights activist, and the 2004 murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh by an Islamic extremist."

Two murders committed respectively by a leftist and one of the favorite sympathy cases of the left, a Muslim.

Wasn't Loughner a leftie, too?

Hmm...

I saw it reported on The Blaze that this psycho in Brazil was a muslim. Guess thats why this case is not getting as much attention in the US press as it would is the shooter fit a different profile.
just another isolated incident ...........

The point to understand is that lawmakers see no difference between the citizen and a criminal. To the lawmakers, all citizens are criminals.

Ironic, citizens see all lawmakers as criminals. Though if they were forced to tell the truth, they would admit they see law-abiders as their victims.

Lawmakers feed off the law-abiding like flesh-eating parasites. Though, I have more respect for flesh-eating parasites.
