Ok, on Tuesday I had my CCW issuance appt with Sac County. They said I should expect it in the mail in 1-2 weeks. From everyone I have talked to it was exactly one week. So I am expecting it on Tuesday. My question is: If the Federal Government shuts down, will the Post Office be included? If it is, who knows how long it could be before my CCW arrives.

Post office will not shut down, but if your FBI background (fingerprint check?) is not completed, you might have a delay.

Post office should go on uninterrupted.

I found this on the Interweb (http://kdrv.com/page/209019):

The post office already knows it will not have a disruption of services, that's because it's a quazi-federal unit. Congress controls them and gives them mandates, but their revenue comes strictly from the sale of postage stamps. The post office is not supported by federal tax dollars.

I'm way past that point in the process. Background has cleared I signed and placed a thumbprint on the actual permit on Tuesday of this week.

The PO is self-funded and will not shut down according to their spokesperson.
