View Full Version : New Browning 308 BLR

Hello everyone. I am new on here. A local friend turned me onto the site. I am originally from Texas but I have been in California for 10 years now. Anyway, I figured that I would seek advice right off the bat.
I just bought a Browning BLR in the .308 caliber. I started by purchasing Hornady 150 gr. Superperformance SST at 3000 fps. and Muzzle energy at 2997 ft. lbs. I have been considering using the same ammo in 165 gr. hoping that my groups will be smaller. My question to your members is: "What is the best and most accurate ammo that I can use for hogs and deer between 100 and 300 yards"? I try to emphasize accuracy.
Also, if there are tips that any of you could give me on the site would be well appreciated.

Welcome to Calguns. This is the howdy area so you may want to repost your question in either the centerfire rifle or the hunting area, the folks with answers may not be looking here for questions.

Welcome. The BLR is a great rifle and a capable hunter. It might not shoot as flat with heavier loads.
But I agree youll get way better answers / suggestions in the Centerfire Rifle section.
