For my brothers in the Bay Area...

I was driving on Dumbarton Bridge during the weekend (from University towards Newark) and saw a guy with a shotgun and his dog walking towards the "swamp land/bridge" it is right after the SUN campus.

I know that there are many birds in that area but it isn't the area a "populated" area and not for hunting/shooting?

Anyone have any idea? If it is do-able (whatever paperwork/license is needed) I will be there every weekend (10 minutes away from home)!!

Thanks again.

Also, isnt that area a bird/animal reserve?

Its part of the SF Bay National Refuge system and it is open to waterfowl hunting on Wed/Sat/Sun.

Also I believe there are still a couple of private duck clubs out there in the tidal flats. HP had theirs in the area between Ampitheater and the approach to Palo Alto Airport. Not sure if that was turned over to the public use area or not in the last 5-7 years.
