Pistolero 50K Challenge!

I am so grateful today for this community. There is not a more vibrant example of the 1st amendment at work than the community that's doing the most to protect the 2nd in California.

CGF retains the most talented, effective, and yes, expensive 2A attorneys on the planet, because we play to win. These strategic efforts will literally help preserve our freedoms and our way of life for generations. If that isn't worth a hundred bucks, then I will eat my sombrero.

Let's ROLL.

So that we can track the success of the drive, please enter Pistolero in the memo field. Look for the link: "What case has made you decide to donate?", and Enter 'Pistolero'.

Freedom Ain't Free
Let's get back our gun rights.

But how about the rest of us? :D

I'm due. So I'll do it for 10 others who are not in that position. Very Grateful to be able to do so...

Should we tag with a certain name when donating? PS I just copied & pasted the thread title...

If we're thinking in terms of a tally, the only practical way I can think of is to put something consistent in the notes field during the PayPal checkout process, or something in the memo of a live check.

Thank you, Maestro and all of the generous donors, for making such a personal commitment to advancing liberty through supporting our modest, volunteer-driven organization. We'll continue to work hard alongside the finest subject matter legal counsels in the US, and I think you'll be pleased with the events to come very soon.

Perhaps we just allow the foundation to use the funds as it sees fit. I trust that the board would uniquely positioned to assess need.

He's saying a tally/count for how many donations are derived from this specific drive. If someone randomly goes on CGF's site and donates and someone else clicks your link in this thread to donate, it'll look the same on CGF's end.

I vote we designate the donation memo field be "Pistolero" for this specific donation drive. All in favor say "Aye" and donate with 'Pistolero' in the notes/memo; all opposed say "nay" and donate anyway. :D

Also note that these memo fields/notes don't designate or dictate how/where the money goes, 501(c)3 non-profits have some interesting rules set up about how money is taken in/documented/payed out...on a basic scale, all donations go into the General Fund and legal costs are paid from that. We technically don't pay directly into the "Fresno County CCW Initiative", we donate to CGF's general fund and when they act in Fresno, they pull from the general fund.

Donations to the Foundation go straight to the treasury and go to all of our programs and activities. Only once in a while do we tag and assist a specific project (Theseus was an example.) However, tagging these so we can tally them is useful so we can tell people how close to the goal we are.

My case is also specifically tagged, but CGF, in light of the circumstances of the quickness of the appeals start, dropped about mid-4 figures into the case to push it up to CA10. There may also need to be costs (which will be recovered once the district court judgement is vacated), which if you read the docket, adds up to about $1600, depending on how the clerk of the court rules.

Peterson seems to be, at this time, the highest CGF-supported/coalition civil case in terms of climbing the stair-ladder to SCOTUS in terms of carry, though there is significant right to travel aspects, but if you think about it, carry outside of the home is essentially a right to travel issue, as addressed by the original Sykes complaint before it became Richards. Personally, I'm hoping another case jumps ahead, but I'll step up if I have to.

Thank you Krucam and putput for the contributions.

Yesterday I got a request from one and potentially another local LE office for a stack of AW Flow Charts & SacPD Memos after I gave an individual one of each to keep in his "personal belongings" bag :)

Not only can $10 help spread the word to assist in keeping firearms owners legal, it can serve to keep someone from having to pay $5-10k in legal fees when the LEO's have credible/useful training info on hand!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Ok, folks. I'm talking to those of you whose quivering mouse-finger is hovering perilously over the DONATE BUTTON (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108030) right now.

Just DO IT. Take a deep breath, go to your happy place, and CLICK. (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108030)

By the way, I am normally not one to play the "B" card, But when it comes to gun rights, there is simply no room for modesty or humility. So here goes:

It's my friggin birthday today, OK? Yep, no longer just at the half century mark, I am now a full fledged, sophomore quinquagenarian.

By the way, what is the latin word for quinquagenarian, or sophomore for that matter? But, I digress.

But please, everyone, try to contain your nearly uncontrollable impulse for well-wishing, and quickly channel that energy into MONEY (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108030) to help us GET BACK (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108030) our GUN RIGHTS (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108030).

. . . or roughly roughly $1,000 per day. Puts us on track to 50K around May 21st. Certainly by Memorial day we WILL hit the mark. What an awesome display of patriotism and generosity. Calgunners are truly an extraordinary breed. We do it for ourselves, but we do it for the country, too. Understand that this drive will impact a lot more than just California gun rights.

With the demise of every unconstitutional statute, code, practice, anti-gun-owner prejudice, and false belief, YOU are making the country more free.

Okay, let's see if we can get things rolling a bit here, let's double the next ten donations of fifty dollars.

The next ten $50 donations will be matched by Calguns.net.

It's simple and easy, you donate $50, calguns.net donates $50 to double it for the next ten donations of $50.

So I got all riled up over the Ventura county case and donated 50 because of that (somehow my paypal didn't register it when i did it last night so I just sent it now). Then I realized I still haven't thrown 50 in for this cause and felt a little guilty so I donated another 50.

The only problem is, I forgot to change the message from "Ventura County" to Pistolero so they both went as Ventura.

Good job, ladies and gentlemen. Vegeta simply cannot believe how much you're all donating. His muscled friend looks at the numbers and says, "There's no way that can be right!"

Folks, we need everyone to share the load with what they can afford.

If every active member kicked in $10, we'd have like $200,000 or more!

Do we not appreciate the great work done here recently? It ain't cheap...

The more I hear it mentioned, the more I like the $10/month commitment. It's so easy to do, it's barely more than 1 fast food meal a month and it goes to a pretty decent cause. Okay, 'pretty decent' is a bit of an understatement.

I'm joining the $10/month plan, will you?

What a great gesture! To the best of my (limited) knowledge? One has to contact their employer for these type of donations from their pay checks. CGF is a civil rights .org, similar to other non-profit .org's. A non-profit org, such as the United Way, etc.

Contact your employer, it would be set up just as if you were contributing to the United Way, or any other non-profit 501(c)3. It's providing financial support to a CIVIL RIGHTS group.

Also, my employer happens to match any donation I make to the CGF, so every dollar I donate is matched $1 for $1.

EVERYONE should check to see if their employer does the same. It DOUBLES the amount the individual donates...

Go Calguns Foundation! :D

Yes, I know it seems stupid, but I have been a regular contributor to CalGuns.Net I didn't realize I needed to make sure I am also supporting CGF. I corrected hat mistake tonight. Maybe there are others who didn't know either.

Funny thing... My employer used to relentlessly stalk us for our United Way donation pledge forms. The first year I was able to donate to the CGF through my employers "campaign for the community" was the last time they bothered me. Funny how that works.

I donate randomly to the CGF. I need to get back into the donation circuit at work as well.

you may be able to arrange a monthly donation with your employer, and as a bonus, they may match your contribution (which is great if possible, but not at all universal).

if that is not an option, and you use any sort of online banking, you can arrange for a monthly donation to CGF from your bank account quite easily.

if you don't use online banking, its kind of up to you to make the payments manually.

To quote myself (from my sig, lol): It isn't much, but I send $10 every two weeks to CGF automatically through my online Bill Pay as described here (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=5646160&postcount=14).
