As if to highlight my .22 newbie ness,

I now have a plastic Pachmayr snap cap rammed 1/4 inch into my new, unfired chamber.
(FTE, I kept trying to cycle the slide, more rounds hammered it home I guess.)

Once the laughter dies down, any advice, including "take it to a gunsmith" would be greatly appreciated.

It's a semi auto pistol, so the barrel/s out at the moment.

Luckily, I can put the 45 slide back on, but that's not the point.

Bang it out from the front with a wooden dowel, or cleaning rod

Of course.

Thanks mate.

Thankfully it's a snap cap and not a live round. If it was live, I'd then suggest a smith. Good luck.

Ha, I did this with a live round at the range with the P22 I got my GF.:o

I promise I won't do it again.;)
