Took out the 10/22 to the range on one of those spontaneous trips.

Second time out with it. Didn't do toooooo bad.

25 feet standing. There is somewhere between 300-350 rounds in there. Towards the end of the trip I started at the top left and worked clockwise around till the last 2, then hit the center.

I need to work on the random ones that missed the targets, then I'll get 2" targets.

Question: If you count shots fired, do you "dry fire" the 11th/last round?? I did that yesterday, not to sure why.

Nice. I just put my money down on a 10/22 yesterday at Turner's. I won't get it until the 8th of April. What ammo were you using?

Waiting to get my 10/22 out of jail. Trying to figure out a good cheap scope for it.

Simmons 22mag 4x scope is nice for 30 or less when on sale.

To the OP , I count shots and don't dry fire. Ruger has a firing pin stop so theroretically you are ok to dry fire.

Yesterday I used Federal (300-350 rounds), the first time I took it out I used Blazer (525 rounds) and noticed Blazer was cleaner in my gun.

Thanks for the info, I will get a scope once I take mine outside of an indoor range.

10/22 was my first rifle. I have gotten real good with it. I just got an AK that I get to take out tommorrow for the first can`t wait. Still taking the 10/22 with me cause you can shoot that thing all day and it don`t cost a fortune for ammo. I just got 5000 rnds of Blazer 40 grain 22lr ammo off of gunbroker.com for $157 thats cheap.

NT?? (North Torrance?)

I go to Sharp Shooters (Western and 208th). I have been to LAX, but Sharp Shooters is closer to me.

north torrance, you bet, born and raised. got my safety cert at SS. someone mentioned "run down" and I sorta agree. i mean i'm not expecting a glamorous place to shoot guns but maybe it's the mood lighting? can you shoot your own ammo at SS? I have two bricks of winchester HP i got on sale from turners in redondo.

havent been to LAX yet, but as soon i get some free time i'd like to go "let off some steam." :)

I dont know about a cheap scope but the ClearRidge scope works great on my 10/22. Rimfirecentral had good reviews on them also.

How much do their scopes cost?

You can shoot your own ammo at SS, shot guns must be buck or slug, no high powered rifle rounds. Don't quote me on the rifle part.

As far as run down, they have every thing I need... but that's just me. LAX is nice / they have more stuff, but I only go to shoot. I don't buy anything else besides one lane. Plus SS is cheaper, $16 a lane. LAX is $14(?) an hour. Plus the one time sign up fee ($2). I usually go for more than an hour.

Membership at Sharpshooters is the best deal plus they will treat you more like family... Unlimited shooting for one low price. The second best way is to go with a member then it will only cost $8 if you share a lane. I shoot there up to 3 or 4 times on a good week...
