Looking to stock up on some 10 rd magazines in 5.56/.223. I have found ASC for $13.99 on rifle gear.

Do all AR-15s perform well with any brand magazine?

One of my pistols is very temperamental with non-factory mags. I don't want to stock up on headaches.

Don't go cheap on mags, they are as important as your rifle. That said, pickup some pmags.

Edit: I emailed Thermold about the magazine, and they said its from there old plant. So Thermold may be a high quality product, but has some of there older crappier stuff still around..

Took a thermold mag I bought from midway out today and it would not feed any ammo into my AR... So stay away from thermold!

I'd suggest waiting rather than buy a POS mag and go out and none of them feed anyways. Try c product mags. I heard a ton of bad reviews of the black follower ones which I got from a friend and it worked just as good as my GI military mag and my p mags.. Doubt it can take the same abuse as my pmag but it still fed. But just wait or look around a little more. I know several people have extra mags after the mag scare after that school shooting... Haha people and their ban fears...

EDIT: Sorry IPhone auto spell..........

That's probably on sale too ;)

And the guy behind the counter will probably try telling you they can shoot full auto and these are the only mags tha can shoot in a M4/M16.

Go to stockaid they will probably call the cops and say those are a federal offense :p

I dunno...

I thought they were cheap(ish) stamped aluminum or mild steel.

I burned up 3 drill bits making six 10/30s out of the bodies I got from Riflegear last year. 4 holes per bit was all I got. I suspect they are stainless, or at least extremely hard (spring?) steel.

the only one's i don't like are the plastic ones that came with my kel tec su16....the plastic is too flimsy, especially when they heat up. Pmag's (http://www.google.com/#q=10rd+PMAG&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=ivns&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=NuCPTbOwK4q-sAO-kZ35CA&ved=0CCkQrQQ&biw=1259&bih=851&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=d25cf220a3af5068) seem to be the way to go when on a budget. I'm sure you can find them online somewhere....the internet is huge!

here's a few 10rds i found for sale...

This was that exact mag.

Mine seem to work just fine. Feels the same as the GI mag accept it is about 1 to 2 ounces heavier. Worked great for me all day.
Used this my GI mag and 2 Pmags that whole weekend not a single jam. All together that day I think we shot a total of 730 rounds.

ProMags are kinda crappy... Some feeding issues with them. I have 2 and both have feeding issues from time to time. My Pmags have had zero problems.

convert convert and when in doubt convert again... IMO 10rd bodies are just way to friggin small.. 20rd bodies are perfect and 30rd bodies are good but a bit big..

He must mean Pmag rebuild kits. On average, most places charge at least $5-$10 more for blocked Pmags to cover the cost of the block plus labor. Ty's 10/20s and 10/30s are only 20 bucks and he's got some of the best prices around.
