The Bullet Guy (http://www.thebulletguy.com) has a "super savings deal" on some Speer bullets. He's always had good prices on Speer bullets, but there are some specific ones that he has even better prices on (ie: 150gr 7mm 1000ct for $75).

Also, there is a member of The Sniper's Hide forum setting up a Hornady bullet group buy. Check out the current thread (http://www.snipershide.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=13;t=004947). There is supposed to be an official post/thread started later today with ordering information and finalized prices. This looks to be a very good deal for anyone looking for quality match grade bullets.

I've bought from the bullet guy many times (before he even had his own website and was selling on ebay only). good pricing, for what I can find.

I Recommend.

I just got a bunch of Nosler factory seconds from Shooter's Pro Shop. (http://www.shootersproshop.com/bullets.htm) They've got cosmetic marks like fingerprints on them, but I don't figure it'll matter for my purposes. A couple in each bag of 100 might be heavily stained, but even if I throw those out it's still a great deal. At $12 per 100, they're less than half the cost of the Sierras I've been shooting.

I just checked nosler.com and they have the 1000ct of 22cal 77gr Competition bullets back in stock for $99.95. I just bought two boxes of those. Factory 1sts. Not blems. Great deal.

That's a smokin' deal. I noticed that they have the .30 cal 168s listed at the same price, but of course there aren't any in stock.

Also bought a bunch RCBS reload equipment from the craigslist. Now I just need the die sets, powder, and primer. And I'm good to go.

Got my 2000 Nosler 77gr competition bullets. I have plenty of time this weekend to make test loads and compare them to my 77gr Sierra Match King load for AR service rifle.

The bullet guy's prices are amazing, so what's the catch? Does this stuff not come in a box or what?

Any one try the Bullet Guy's 62grn 223 bullets? Looking for 4 to 5 thousand, not to excited on the pulled stuff unless it has been resized.

ocabj
01-19-2007, 7:08 AM
What 62gr bullets are you referring to? I don't see any 'pulled' bullets on The Bullet Guy's site. The only 62s I see are the Golden West bullets and those are good product. I've never used the Golden West 62s, but I have used their 55s (as well as their 147gr 9mm), and I have friends that use their .22cal 62s and .30cal 168s and .311 150gr.

If you don't know Golden West, they're in El Monte and you can call them for a direct purchase and pick-up.

http://www.goldenwestbrass.com/

Golden West manufacturers brand new FMJ bullets and brass.

I guess I should check and see if my 1:12" will spin a 178grAMax...

I hate to say it, but I've burned through half the 125grTNT's I got from the Bullet Guy... *sigh* The days of 17 match loads aren't going to last forever...

I have bought military pulled 62 grn(Green Tip) that have been resized off of E-Bay and at gun shows for around $28-$33 for a thousand. Some people sell ones that are just pulled. Sorry if I made it sound like the Bullet Guy sold pulled bullets

Ah.

Well, the Golden West stuff on The Bullet Guy's site is good. See if you can call Golden West and do a cash order pickup. That's how I bought my stuff from them. Tax 'included' in advertised price last time I bought from them.

If you guys haven't seen the Nosler's specials, they posted the 22cal 77grs back up along with a few other options:

http://www.nosler.com/index.php?p=11&b=5&s=4&t=SPECIALS!

Note: The price is $126.95 per 1000. Not as good as the one 3 months ago at $99.95 per 1000, but still a good price considering the recent bullet price increases. I just ordered 2000 a couple minutes ago.

I've got another 2000 Hornady 75gr BTHP on the way via the group buy on The Sniper's Hide website, not to mentioned the 500 Berger 80gr VLDs I just got in. So I should be ok on High Power bullets for the next 6-8 months.

The 1000 ct of 155gr 30cal looks like a great buy. I'm half tempted to order a few thousand, but I've spent enough on bullets for the time being.

I just ordered:
500 - 40 grain .224 HP Varminters
500 - 50 grain .224 SPT Varminters
100 - 60 grain .224 HP Varminters
100 - 85 grain .264 HP Varminters

For $123 delivered to my office.

One of the guys on SavageShooters.com has a 50% off certificate from Sierra for up to $2500 worth of bullets and let us do a group buy on that.

www.thebulletguy.com is selling off the leftovers of the Speer bulk packs (mostly 7mm stuff). He also went through the shop and put together some bundles of loose stuff around the shop--I picked up another screaming deal on 125-130gr bullets for .30cal.

A friend of mine ordered some 180gr 30 cal from The Bullet Guy a few weeks ago. He was told by TBG that someone bought about 30k of the 7mm and 30cal stuff from him. I'm betting whoever bought the whole lot is probably going to resell it.

The order I placed for another 2000 Nosler 77gr BTHPs came in today:

http://www.ocabj.net/gallery/albums/handloads_misc/IMG_4835.sized.jpg (http://www.ocabj.net/gallery/albums/handloads_misc/IMG_4835.jpg)

This order was filled using their 250ct commercial boxes as opposed to the bulk 500ct, this time around. All the same lot, though.

Bullets were non-cannelured, as expected. I still have 1000 Nosler 77gr leftover from the last order (plus 400 rounds already loaded). Not to mention the 4000ct Hornady 75gr I have coming in via The Sniper's Hide group buy.

Good times.

Non-cannellured.... so I shouldn't crimp them? These weren't "bench" only rounds, right??

I've 2000 in transit.... seems like a GREAT deal...

This site is run by Daren Yancey, who also ran Group Buys on The Sniper's Hide. It looks like he will be allowing purchases of smaller quantities of bullets (500 and 1000ct) direct.

Contact him for more info, but his pricing on Hornady is excellent.

Definitely. Just under $100 for 1K match grade bullets? That's a no brainer. I think the lowest distributor prices are about $130-$140 per 1k of 75/77 BTHP..

Bought these several months ago. Saw no diff from sierra to nosler at 200 yards thus I am currently buying only Noslers. Dont know if there would be a large deviation between the two at 6-800 yards.

I'm stockpiling .223 right now. I've got my AR built and ready, but I'm going to shoot the M1A through Camp Perry before I go over to the dark side.

Although... if the Noslers show up before next weekend (State Service Rifle Championship--Coalinga), I might give them a try after the matches.

They accept a C&R FFL.

What happened? I faxed bhshooters my C&R last week and they sent it back saying that they do not accept 03 FFL's. Is this a recent change?

How are their prices on stuff since I can't see it? Do they have good prices on powder?

Really? That's interesting. I faxed them my C&R FFL back in March after I got my new one from the ATF. This must be a new policy.

Their bullet prices are good for the basic bulk stuff. Their powder prices are good if you are only buying a small amount because the prices include shipping and hazmat and are low enough to where you if you are only buying 10 lbs, you're not taking a huge hit on a $20 hazmat.

You're still better off doing a large/group buy on powder from Powder Valley.
