Hi everyody,

For a PPT, do both parties need to be California residents or just the Buyer?

If someone was visiting CA from another state, could they sell a gun via PPT to a CA resident?

thanks,
-todd

Since DOJ does not recognize any ID except for valid CA DL/ID or military ID with orders to a duty station in CA, both parties must be residents.

To answer your question, no...they could not come into the state to PPT to a CA resident.

But such a visitor could sell a gun, at a CA FFL, as an interstate transfer.
