Good Afternoon. I was looking for everyone's personal opinions on 2 specific flash suppressors.

1. Noveske KX3
2. Battle Comp2.0

Im aware that both are very popular so before i put the money up I figured Id get more opinions. Right now im leaning toward the Noveske, I like how all the shock wave goes forward vs. sideways. Thanks for all your input.

the KX3 is hardly what i'd call a Flash suppressor. It redirects the flash forward, but doesnt suppress it. it throws a huge fireball forward. OH, and its almost 1/2 pound.

the BC is a compensator. it is pretty good with flash, about that of a A2, but its not the best by any means.

Look into the Smith Vortex or the AAC Blackout if you really want a nice FH.

Thanks Tom! Do you know how the concussion is for people around you with the BC?

Well as I understand it..

The KX3 is intended for short barreled rifles. Adding some back pressure and throwing the large blast associated with SBR's forward instead of up and around. Its big and heavy IMO for anything over14"

The battle comp is primarily a comp. If you are looking for a Flash suppressor, there are better options available than both of those.

For flash hider capabilities, the AAC Blackout is choice! Cheap @ less than $60

Great suggestion and product. If you have money, I love what the KX3 does.

OP, what EXACTLY are you trying to accomplish?

The KX3 and BC cannot be compared. They are totally different products designed for totally different applications. Also, neither one is a very good flash hider.

Are you looking for a flash hider? Something to reduce/redirect concussion? Or a muzzle brake?

None of the answers on this thread mean anything unless you tell us what you actually want.

Do you know how the concussion is for people around you with the BC? It's minimal compared to most other comps. I really like how it minimizes muzzle rise but, as mentioned above, it isn't really a flash hider. I can see the muzzle flash from my iron sights with the BC.

Im reading good Reviews but it is also mentioned that for the shooters around you its super loud. Only reviews Ive read, any first hand knowledge? (PWS FSC556)

It kinda seems like the BC is kinda the best of both worlds a happy medium???

I suppose Im looking for something that
1. Something to reduce/redirect concussion
2. Offer good recoil control.

I don't really have a traditional muzzle brake to compare it to, but the BC had noticeable but by no means obnoxious concussion. Doesn't really redirect the concussion though.

Muzzle rise was very minimal, and that was on a long stroke rifle so part of the muzzle rise I was noticing (and it wasn't much) might have been recoiling mass.

No idea on the flash but from the night shooting videos I've seen,if you want to dampen flash the BC is not for you. The flash is not the thermonuclear explosions of your average brake, but not even close to the level of the Blackout or flash hiders of that ilk.

I'd suggest either a JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley ($82) or a DPMS Miculek ($40)

PWS FSC556

it's on the end of my scar. The rifle doesn't have too much muzzle rise anyways. I'm going to switch it out for an aac 51t miter. the pws can make it a bit louder if you are standing to the either side of the rifle. I know that's it not too big of a deal, but everyone has preferences....

Then you're not looking for a flash suppressor...

Hopefully all shooters at any firing line are wearing ear protection and then it's not an issue any more than another choice.

Ok, what you're looking for primarily is a good muzzle brake.

First off, forget about the KX3 as it won't really meet goal #2 of yours.

Probably the "best" of what you would be looking for, in this order, would be:

1.) KAC Triple-Tap ($$$$$$$)
2.) BattleComp
3.) PWS FSC556

The KAC triple-tap was designed as a brake that reduces the concussion as much as possible for SBR's. It does an exceptional job at reducing the concussion while acting as a pretty good brake.

The BattleComp was really designed to be a poor-mans triple-tap. It's designed in much the same way but using machining practices that are easier on the tooling and more cost effective. It's also made from a much less expensive steel. The KAC Triple-Tap is made from a jet engine alloy (not even joking).

The PWS FSC556 was designed to offer pretty good flash suppression (not really what you're looking for) and braking ability in the same package. As such, it's not the best brake, but that means that it also reduces the concussion a good bit.

All of the above are not really that cheap.

If you want to save some money and don't care so much about concussion, then I would go with the two that someone else suggested. The JP Brake or the Miculek-style comp. The Miculek is a fantastic brake and they cost around $25 or less.
