Hey all,

I've been wanting a 22/45 and a local shop has a used mark II in decent shape and they're asking $295. Is this a good deal or pass? I've read the older ones are more desirable due to the lack of CA features but I also know the shop in question is very overpriced on pretty much everything they have (FNP-9 for $700+ as an example). So what do the 22/45 experts say, deal or pass?

All I can tell you is what I've researched this week whilst looking for a new MK-something or a 22/45. The cheapest out-the-door prices in Cali seem to be from Addax, and the best online prices seem to be from Gunsatcost.

Enjoy.......:D

I'd pass, because you can find a new 22/45 MkIII for around $250 if you try. They're not hard to derestrict and you still have a brand new gun. Now if they're willing to sell it to you for $200, then I'd do it.

The MKIIIs are just as good as the MKIIs.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well guys, this shop is just rip-off central. I really wish Turner's would open a store in NorCal. I'll just keep my eyes open for a good deal from a cal-gunner or vendor here. It really doesn't have to be a 22/45 at this point, I'd gladly take a buckmark or other rimfire pistol if the price is right.

Is the 22/45 mark II a stainless or blued model? If it's a 5.5 inch stainless model, then $295 is not a bad deal - especially if the gun's in good shape and comes with the box, manual and spare mag. The mark IIs are more desirable than the mark IIIs and most dealers are aware of this.

Get this Buckmark package, for the same price as a Buckmark "standard" you get:
Camper, stainless steel, fiber optic front sight ($25), pistol rug ($10), 2 extra mags ($50)

You can get a new Mark III for under 300 out the door. I got mine through galleryofguns. The Mark III has a thumb button mag release kinda like a 1911, and the Mark II mag release is on the bottom of the magwell. Get a Mark III and fix a couple little things and you will keep it forever. ;)

This is incorrect. On 22/45s, the mag release is in the same place for both the mark II and mark III versions.

Actually his statement wasn't incorrect, it just wasn't specific to the 22/45. The mag release location is a big difference between the regular Mk II and Mk III. The 22/45, not so much.

That is nice but it only comes with one EXTRA mag, normally comes with 2 anyhow, and at a price of $285.00 plus S&H, plus the bloated DROS for out of state transfer, you're going to end up with a $400.00+ stainless Buckmark. All in all a nice pistol no doubt, but a bargain it is not. The 22/45 is a nice pistol and can be had for at least $100.00 less when caught on sale.

Now, all that being said, I would not let a $100.00 stand in my way. Save up your coin and get the pistol you want regardless of the extra coin. I own both of those pistols and they are both great shooters and the stainless feature is very nice, especially in a dirty 22LR pistol.

The OP is questioning the price of a 22/45, so that's the only context that's relevant here.

Thank you for the congrats- it is my biggest achievement this year.

I'm so happy my value clarified two previous statements. Now anyone who reads this thread will know the difference between the two guns and series, not relying on you telling someone he's incorrectly incorrect.

Don't be all butthurt now. It's just the internet.

Yep, it is the internet - where little trolls like you can run up their post count by posting worthless comments in every thread. Trust me, you're the only one who's "butthurt".

No, Buckmarks currently come with 1 mag. All the extras do make up for the $100 difference, and I don't think the 22/45 is even offered in stainless, only the Mark III is, which is close to $400. Buds ships for free. Tax on a 22/45 bought locally + DROS = same cost as out-of-state DROS.

Wow, we all don't live in socal lol. I knew about turner's deal but cost of driving my truck down there would've made any savings negligible. We really need a turner's up this way, but we also have Sac Black Rifle and Valkyrie so I guess it works out. :D

I would pay that price premium just to not have the stupid LCI and mag disconnect of the mark 3's
