The Legality of "Magazine Rebuild Kits"

Alright I am sure yall have went over this before..but I don't live in the Peoples Republic...so I need some help clarifying ...

I would like to know which laws pertain to this issue and where I can find
them and your take on it.

Is a company breaking the law by sending these into Cal?

If the person who buys them, breaks the law. Is the person or company that sold them in trouble?

Which re-build mag kits are illegal? Which are legal?

Thank you very much.

They are just springs metal shells and metal baseplates as far as the law is concerned there is basically no regulation of magazine parts.

Yep, they are legal to ship and buy here. Legal to rebuild into 10 rounds magazines or to repair legally owned pre ban mags.

None are illegal as they can all be altered into legal 10 round magazines.

I thought that they had to be broken down into their parts?

Yes they have to be broken down into parts. They can be used in CA for two uses, either repairing legally owned large-capacity magazines or to be modified into 10 round magazines that only look like you're packing 30 rounds. They make for good pics :D

if i had to guess

1) most popular pistols (glock, sig, xd, etc)
2) .22 (10/22 in particular)
3) mags for use in featureless builds (e.g. M1A etc)

Just guessing by what I see here:

AR-15 Pmags are probably huge sellers
AK-47 and 74
Glock, Sig and HK pistols

Since glocks are one of the most popular guns and were also popular here pre-ban, my bet is they would be a very popular seller. Probably also Ruger 10/22 hi-cap mags. I've bought a few of these to repair my pre-ban ones.

Guns like the XD that wasn't around pre-ban probably wouldn't be big sellers.

Did I ever suggest they did not? Like I said they are just springs and mag shells when disassembled.

Thanks for looking into the rebuild kit option to increase your business. It's always nice to see another vendor willing to support us gunnies here in Mordor-with-palm-trees.

Don't forget that there are other states that have the same issues with normal capacity magazines. States like Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York could also use the support of another vendor. I'm sure that they would be happy to reciprocate your support by sending more business your way.
