Right now for a Regular MP15-22 I'd say Big 5 sporting goods. Today is the LAST day you can get it for $429. I wanted the MOE version so I found Turner's Outdoorsman the Best right now $534.98+ DROS + Tax......$617.63 OTD Good Luck & I think you've made a GOOD choice.

I'm at work until 3:00 pm. I'll go online and check out the store hours right now. So the one that's on sale is the "regular" rifle? I don't know what the different models are, so I'll have to go online to see what the different versions are. Thanks!

I went on the Smith and Wesson website and noticed that the CALI models do not have a flash suppressor? What's up with that? And do all models have the rails? Or is there an even more basic model with just "standard" handguards?

They all have the rails. The non flash hider version is just the standard version. They have another one thats harder to find with a flash hider and thne the MOE version which has the magpul stuff and a flash hider.

As long as they come with a 10 round mag All the versions are legal here.

Okay, I see that Big 5 tends to only carry the plain barrel model where as Turners has the MOE model with the FS. I "think" I may just get the plain barrel. I got a quote of about $500 from Big 5 (plain jane model) and about $650 from Turners (Moe Model). I don't know if the MOE model is worth the extra $150.

Oh, so there is a "plain jane" model with a FS? I'd rather get that one, but why is it so hard to find???

You can have the barrel on the plain one threaded. I believe ar15barrels does it for like $30.

Well, there ya have it. I think I may just go this route.

Actually, wouldn't it be $60 as they would have to remove the barrel fromt the upper?? If so, then the Magpul model is not so bad after all.

I thought the MOE model was worth it, It comes with the Magpul MOE stock, Magpul MBUS folding front & rear sight, threaded barrel with "Flash supressor" & I believe the Magpul grip. Saves you trouble of buying parts and installing them....
S&W has the regular on MSRP $499 & The MOE $609 "Dealer sets actual Price"

After further reflection, yeah, I think that you're right. It does seem to give you more bang for your buck.

Well, I didn't buy it....but that was because my license is expired and I'm still waiting on my new one!! Today was the last day of the sale, but the manager let me take "rain check" on it and will honor the price on the day I get my new license. He also stated that if the rifle goes on sale for less, which I don't think it will, I will be given the lower price. I guess I'll just and see what happens.

A rifle in 22lr doesn't really need any muzzle accessories. Many people spend alot of money to get that clean "bull barrel" look. there is some value to having something to protect the crown from damage. An ebay vendor sales some type of clamping muzzle accessory that should od the job of protecting the barrel. I wouldn't know if it works well or not.

I know I'm in a different state and not completely up to speed on how CA handles out of state transfers (in MA, it must handled by an FFL if shipped, I imagine it's similar in CA), however, there is a reputable place down the street from me (link (http://www.fsguns.com/specials.html)) selling it for $399. With tax, shipping, and FFL transfer I'm not sure what the total would be, but the owner's name is Carl and he is a very good guy- wouldn't hurt to ask if you can't find a better deal locally.

Look around online, or check the S&W forums as people post up deals online for a 15-22. You should be able to find one for less than $399 (sometimes $349 - $379). Add in transfer fees and you're still well under $450 OTD.

Somebody mentioned in another thread that Turner's will have the 15-22 MOE back on sale again for $499 either this week or next. You may want to look into that if there's a Turner's nearby. Otherwise, you can find them on GB or other places for about the same price. When mine was all said & done, I paid $595 OTD from Turner's for my MOE 15-22.

I got mine from Turner's (MOE) for $500 before everything. That was on their Veteran's Day sale. Whatever model you get, you'll be happy. The MOE has great value in that you save a lot going that route if your looking to add Magpul stuff on. During the 10 day wait, get more magazines since it only comes with one and plenty of ammo!

If you go with the MOE, you might want to consider the FDE (flat dark earth) version. It's a personal preference but I like the two-tone look on mine:

Everything you see is stock except for the sling and the sling attachment on the front. I got it here (http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=811035) but it looks like they are now out of stock.

NICE! Didn't know they have that color. Here in LA we have black, black & black. I like that FDE now that I know how it looks. I'm gonna get the Magpul iPhone case in that color.

Turners has the M&P 15-22 rifle at $449.98 and the M&P 15-22 ifle 22LR MOE at $534.98 in their Spring Flyer, prices good from March 25th to April 21st.

Figured I'd bump this for myself and anyone else hunting for one of these lately.

I wish I could have made that $429.00 Big 5 sale, now they're "on sale" for $469.99 at Big 5. I've been hunting all over the web for a good deal sub or near 400 and can't come up with anything. Seems everyone online is well over 400 for these guns now. Everything local where I am (Fresno) is well over 500 for a base model, I just can't justify buying it for that.

If anyone knows of any deals post'em up.

How about Bud's?

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/61690

Try emailing them about replacing the magazine with a 10/25 one or none at all.
Sorry, I know nothing about Fresno. My local place has the regular 15-22 on sale for $449

Turner's has the MOE version on sale for $535. Not the best price, but at least it's there for those who want to buy one and not purchase online and ship to a FFL.

I paid $400 for mine a while back. Granted it was the older model and didn't have the blue spring. I still love mine and would have bought the MOE version if it was out when I bought mine

Its not a plain jane barrel it's a match bull-ish barrel. says so right on the s&w website :)

Maybe you don't care, but the $390 one doesn't have the threaded barrel and compensator.

Yeah I'm happy with the regular barrel, I'll just get some cheapo screw on type later if I want to change things up.
