Has anyone heard the course of fire for Friday? is it a 3x600 or an 88rd match?

Still trying to find entry forms--no reply from Dirk's email.

I got an entry form from Dirk, try Steve Quinn or keep checking the webpage if he puts up a *.pdf entry form. If I still have it, I'll scan and email you a copy.

It's a 3x600 on Friday, 88 on Saturday, then the main even on Sunday.

It's looking like I'll have to sit this one out, but an 11th hour banzai run for the leg match is still a remote possibility.

I wish I could afford to go, but I just can't at this time. You guys have fun. Try to make good leg point fodder for NRAHPS :)

Unfortunately my eye is still messed up and I probably won't be able to shoot for another 2 weeks or so :(

That sucks! We may have a tough time filling out an 8 point match.

Looks like Wes and Charlie took the points today, with the cutoff being 475.

Wes legged out, one less to worry about! :D

Did Armanini show up?

He did. Shot Sat and left angry before the bar-b-que claiming he had a service rifle upper for sale.

Jason and Wes got points, possibly Charlie.

I did a little poorly in offhand, but really threw away a lot of points at 600yds (if you're going for broke, why not crossfire on shot 20?)

At least Friday and Sat went pretty well. I've used up my Expert card.

So was it Jason, Wes, and Charlie, with an 8-6, leaving Charlie with just the bronze place medal and 1st leather?

Hey, you think Armanini will sell his upper for $50 like his other stuff? :D

30Cal, congrats on at least getting out of the Expert class, now if someone else can drop the silica bags...

I don't know if they did 2 or 3 legs. We left immediately after the scores were posted.

The CMP posted the scores for the leg match. I don't see Armanini's score, did he shred his score card again.

He's gotta knock that crap off, he almost screwed Pthfndr out of points this past April for the same thing.

He gave up on the Service Rifle in frustration on Saturday and drove home before they started serving the bar-b-cue.

I'm going to go a little off topic here..

Where is the next match going to be? I have two different rifles for shooting in matches and have never tried it. I'd like to go see a match and maybe give it a try. I thought it was supposed to be a cannon shoot in coalinga that weekend, which I wanted to attend.

I think Coalinga is going to have 2 more 3x600 matches for this year.

check out: http://www.carifle.com for the complete schedule

There's also a link to Sacramento's range which is a bit easier in terms of making a day trip.

In terms of cannon shoots, dunno when those are held.

The monthly Coalinga 80rd match is the Sunday after the 3rd Sat (no match June, July or August).

BigMac, if you just want to give it a try and don't want to make the 3-hour drive to Coalinga, there are a ton of matches at local ranges. The San Jose Zouaves (http://www.zouaves.org/) and the Santa Clara Valley Rifle Club (http://www.scvrc.com/high_power.htm) shoot at the 200-yard range at Metcalf. There are monthly matches at Chabot (http://www.chabotgunclub.com/high%20power.htm) too.

congratulations!

but, as you've already seen, it's crowded up there too! :o

This year just sucked elephant's butt for my shooting, but, no such thing as a free lunch.

Bah, they still have me listed as Sharpshooter. I should be well into Expert with the scores from the last match. I'm going to have to email them and ask what scores they have on record for me.

Matt--by my calculations, I should have been re-classed after the April matches--they probably haven't even looked at the Oct and Nov scores yet.

They can't be THAT far behind. My Sharpshooter card has an effective date of 12/6/05, which was one month after the 11/6/05 regional, and I received it late November. Your Master classification looks to be the same way, which would suggest to me that they used a score from 11/5/06 to issue your new classification.
