For the last few weeks, the images for the buttons or smilies don't load. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. I'm currently using Mozila Firefox as browser.

Works fine on IE 6 and IE 7 here. :p

Do you have text where the buttons used to be?
If so try this. Click on the 'Tools' button at the top of the Firefox browser.
Click on 'Options' at the bottom of the drop down menu.
Click on the 'Content' tab with the globe picture.
Make sure 'Load Images' is checked.
Click 'OK'

If 'Load Images' is checked try uncheckinging it, clicking 'Apply' and rechecking and reapplying 'Load Images'.

If this does not work let me know, I'll see if I can come up with anything else.

yeah, I keep getting text, instead of images. I've tried the load images thing and no dice. I've noticed when I go directly to the images url I get a 403.

I use firefox as well, and have been experiencing the same issues.

Followed your directions Kestryll and still no dice.

From a calguns web page which is not loading images, check Tools -> Image manager, see what it says about loading images. There are three choices: none, some, all. Also try right clicking (under Linux; I don't know about other OSs) on the broken image or image text itself to View Image and check Tools -> Images again. It might have gotten accidentally set to Blocked.

Then check Edit -> Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Images. There are the same three choices. You can also get to the Image Manager from here, make sure calguns is not listed with images forbidden.

I just noticed that the attachments (uploaded images) aren't showing up for me.

I noticed visiting
http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?p=394776#post394776

Reason is because I'm logged-in via calguns.net,
while the images aren linked via www.calguns.net.

Either calguns.net should always redirect to www.calguns.net,
or the links for the images should be relative.

For me, on every forum page there is supposed to be a graphic in the very upper left corner of the page (http://www.calguns.net/ezineblue_dwt/includes/logo.gif) that is showing up as a "red X" instead.
