Problem in Moss is that the Monterey Bay Aquarium is buying up any land they can get their hands on; no hunting, of course. There is very little upland game area there now, unless you own the land or know someone that does.

I think that part of Elkhorn Slough has boat in hunting.
Check the CA DFG site, especially download and check the hunting on state and federal lands pdf.

Moss Landing is still open to hunting. when I was there about 2-3 years back there were a few ducks but not much else left. I guess being next to the power plant has something to do with that.

We were just looking for a place to hike and bring our shotties along incase we can bag a few for dinner, but with the tourist crowd in the landing it is less and less frequent to see local outdoors people there.

It's a shame that the laws are so complex around here on hunting and land is being bought up buy private parties for "protection" purposes.
