Anybody has experience with this? It's on sale @ Turners and I'd like to pick one up for my son.

I also bought one from Turners a couple of years ago for my son. No problems with it - and it's very accurate. He learned about gun safety and how to handle a rifle. He's since graduated to a Umarex/HK416 22LR, and my youngest son now shoots it.

i was talking to one of the staff from OCindoor, we were taking about the heritage rough riders (they carry quite a few models of them), anyhow we were taking and he made a good point, he wanted his nephew to learn patience as he was a tad hyperactive at that age. his idea was a rough rider before any autoloader (pretty stiff SA hammer pull per shot, 6 shots and then hand eject and reload). more incentive to learn things proper and make every shot count. plinksters never entered the conversation cuz well none around, never gave it a thought. Now that i've seen the plinkster, it sounds perfect for the starting young shooter. teach em patience, make every shot count, really make it a super rewarding experience when the kid hits. when he/she's ready and has earned to have a 10/22, he/she will have all the things down regarding muzzle discipline, finger off the trigger, and when the kid starts shooting, be a 10 for 10 superstar.

That's the point jack. Thanks. Went to turners yesterday and the half pint was too small.
