Does anyone know if that is the one with the longer barrel or 16"?
Does Big 5 ever sell or have on sale the 15-22 MOE versioin?
Thanks.

at every big5 i think. good deal. also of note, a weaver mounted super tacticool torch ( with the strobe thing too) and laser, probably not going to survive on a centerfire handgun but on a rimfire rifle no problem.

And Barska's 1x reticle reflex sight. I have no clue what makes Barska's thing better than NCStar's and etc, and i imagine they are all made by the same facility in China. But Barska's has more reticle types (or something) and cant be found on the net at a lower price than the big5 sale, so ima bite on that one.

Do not waste your money. I put one of those on my M&P15-22 and it worked for 4 trips to the range. It would have to be adjusted multiple times while shooting, and eventually became so wobbly and could not be tightened... I ended up taking it back. Replaced it with a centerpoint reddot and no problems. I love the centerpoint. Same price and holds zero perfectly.

thanks for the tip. Ya i noticed the amazon.com reviews confirm. Doesnt hold zero, wobbly. I may be wrong but arent these all just branded versions of the exact same product and mfg.? http://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Reticle-Reflex-Sight-Weaver-Picatinny/dp/B003NFI092/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1300378445&sr=8-2

Centerpoint is from Crosman right? I trust crosman. epic fun with their budget airguns.

I do not know for sure, but I suspect the NCStar and Barska are the same thing. The UAG thing you found looks identical as well. I would not try it, though I will say I did like the ease of use for the Barska reflex sight, it just was a major POS.

I do not think centerpoint is Crossman, but I might be wrong. I have 2 scopes and 1 reddot, and all 3 are perfect. They all hold zero, and the glass is very clear, especially considering the low cost. So far I have no complaints with any of my CenterPoints devices. Again... I strongly recommend the reddot for the M&P15-22.

I remember awhile back (at least 6+ months ago), I did see a 15-22 MOE version on sale at Big 5 in one of their Sunday ads. Back then I wasn't interested in them so I didn't really care, but I remember seeing "MOE" in the ad and the Magpul stock on it. Don't remember the price though, but it was $4xx.99 something... probably $499 (same sale price as what Turner's has every now & then).

The 15-22 MOE is going on sale at Turner's Outdoor not this Friday, but the following. March 25... I don't remember what the sale price was though. they are having a really big sale. They'll be selling Ruger 10/22's for 199 (front page of the brochure).

BIG 5 S&M MP15-22 on sale for $429 in North San Diego

That must be one kinky rifle.

IIRC the 15-22 with magpul furniture was at least +$520 when on sale at turners. It's just the magpul stock, magpul pistol grip, and magpul flip sights. Only the sights I feel are a significant improvement on the stock stuff and mostly just cuz they flip down (so their asset is that you're no going to be using them, so they are great if you go into combat with a 15-22 and your optics get knocked out...), but whatever floats your boat.

The moe version also has the threaded barrel. That's worth another $30 plus the flash hider cost. Unless you like the ugly plain muzzle.

I just bought my 15-22 MOE a few weeks ago from Turner's when it was on sale. Sale price was $499 and regular price was $529. Not much of a savings, but pretty much the same price as online (after transfer fees, it's almost cheaper to pay sales tax locally).

Beside the MOE stock, MOE grip, MBUS flip up sights, you also get the built-in rear sling mounts and the threaded barrel. The current CA-spec MOE models even come with the newer blue springs in them. Even if you buy a 'regular' 15-22 for $349 online and have it transferred, by the time you buy all of the MOE parts, MBUS sights, get a sling mount adapter, and thread the barrel, you'll end up paying more than $500 anyways. IMO, the 15-22 MOE version is a great deal if you're going for that look.

I really like the threaded barrel because it gives me lots of options with how I want my rifle to look :)

I have an honest question and I'm not trying to be an jerk. But what good is one of these guns if it's chambered in 22LR. It seems to me that it's like putting a 4 cylinder engine in a big rig. The outside looks beefy but it has no heart.

It's fun to shoot, cheap to shoot, and just a great gun.

I have an AR 15 and one of these. Trust me its not because we want AR 15's but settle for something smaller

Let me guess, you have a ruger 10-22?

I have a 10-22 AND a new 15-22 moe, and I like them both. Just got a Timney trigger and a Power extended cocking handle, both things sorely needed on the Ruger, but with the Hogue stock it is a nice rifle for casual shooting.

It allows you to practice on an ar platform for pennies a round. Yes you can get a conversion but these are fun.

Sadly, it's the only way to legally own a rifle in CA that allows you to have all the different (EVIL) features, and have an actual, removable magazine that you don't need a "Tool" to remove it with.

Additionally, it is pretty expensive these days to go out and just shoot all day with my M1A or even the Mini 14 or 30 for that matter. .22lr is still very economical and allows you to have a blast and still make your mortgage payment.

I'm still looking to get a 15-22 MOE myself.

After shooting a buddies 15-22 last week, I knew I was going to get one eventually. Then Big 5 has to go and immediately have a sale on them!!!!

Well, I went and paid for one yesterday. I have gone from owning no rimfires to buying 3this year (also 10/22 and Mark III). They are just too much fun and so cheap to shoot. I think my Sig pistols are going to start feeling neglected.

While mine is in the Big 5 eleven day jail, I ordered 3 extra mags, and a MagPul angled forend grip from Midway, and a flash hider from TrueShot.

No optics for now, but probably a red dot in the future.

I do. but I can see the value in having some form of muzzle accessory to protect the crown

Well I bit the Bullet! I just paid for my M&P15-22 MOE at turners. I was able to get it for the Sale price $534.98, $25 off the regular price...... Well it covers half the tax or 1 box of CCI 22LR Tactical. Now I gotta wait.....
