I'll NEVER renew my NRA membership...
Life Member since 1985.
I'm gonna do the "easy pay life" for my 2 year old... She's been on a yearly since she was born. I wanted to have have the certificate and membership card (dated the same year) to give to her as a keepsake when she's older. :D

Even if you're a life member, kicking in the odd amount of dough helps things go further..

I "renew" about 3 times a year. They can use all the cash they can get.

Just do the EPL on a credit/debit card, it hits 4 times a year for $25 until it's paid off. Relatively painless, and before you know it - you're done.

The real question is...how many of us have gotten new members to sign up? I've set my goal at getting two new NRA members per year, and so far I'm half way there. It is surprising how many of our shooting friends aren't membres, so that is an easy one. Then I take out someone who has never shot a gun and take them shooting, then they are hooked.
Let's share our sport and show that gun owners are a responsible fun group. The more we get involved, the better off we are.

Got my brother to pony up from 'pay as you go' to easy pay life. I'm a lifer myself, and I do give to ILA from time to time as well. And I always 'Round-up' when I order supplies online from dealers that participate like Midway.
I always felt bad that NRA treated me like 'the forgotton Californian'. Finally I have seen some positive action at the state level! Next year I fear we will all be in a big fight with congress over the next AWB and we all know that next time, it won't have a sunset so we will be in the fight of our lives.

I know NRA really appreciates your support, all of you - we all had a great year! That's what working together, focused and effective, brings us. Frankly, that's not happened very often in the gun-rights ranks. I don't think any gun effort ever used the internet as effectively as we have this year.
Also, luckily, this year the field was clear of the normal fair that has all too often UNFOCUSED us from truly effective work, drove wedges between gun activists and discouraged more of us with each failure. Ill-conceived initiatives, private SCOTUS lawsuits and the like are NOT good for our side. Getting behind our raging bull NRA is.
And as an FYI, there's nothing new about NRA's efforts here - I've been working with Paul and Ed for over 10 years, the NRA Members' Councils have been around over 15. California is the only state to have it's own NRA office and the only state to have Members' Councils. We have 6 board members from California. But clearly, calguns.net and all the other forums you folks "brought in" when you distributed our info made a big difference this year. Now, it will take more work and focus, but WE CAN (and must) SUSTAIN (and expand) THIS WINNING TEAM.
And here's a great way to do that - NRA members, there's STILL an NRA program you need to join - the 100% volunteer California NRA Members' Councils. We don't fundraise (except to recruit new members for NRA), but we DO provide the means for each of you to get HANDS-ON in your direct support of NRA Sacramento:
http://calnra.com/volunteer/
...that URl will get you started. BECOME A SOLDIER IN CALIFORNIA NRA'S "ARMY ON THE GROUND!"
It's great working with my fellow NRA members here! This is almost like walking round at an annual meeting, with 50,000 family members around me. :-)
Mike
PS. Since everyone is announcing theirs, I'm a Benefactor...

I am not an NRA member... Because I am stupid.
It always seemed to me that the NRA should have been renamed the National 5 shot bolt action Hunting rifle association.. I did not see much in the way of support for handgun or evil black rifle owners.
The tide seems to be turning or I am paying more attention. They have been fighting the good fight in support of CCW laws and protecting the rights of ALL gun owners, not just the hunting crowd.
I will be joining, along with my girlfriend...

There is a really cool way to get the stickers! It's in New Mexico, at the North East end, just 12 mi or so west of Raton. It's called the NRA Whittington Center, a way cool series of ranges and the location of the infamous camping cabin #2. I got bit by a huge paper wasp right on the top of my left foot because it was in my sleeping bag. I think fondly of my last visit and how wonderful it felt to get zapped in the dark  . But you can get stickers, sweaters hats and the like in the office area. I go there every vacation as I drive/4x around the midwest. I'm gonna go there again this december if the weather isn't so bad because my work closes for the xmas week. But I think I will setup my tent this time :D

They got the SF handgun ban overtuned. There's no way they can get CA's AWB overturned. They have power, but they are no all-powerful
