I just received an e-mail from the Governator thanking me for my recent e-mail concerning SB59 and informing me that after careful consideration he had decided to veto it.

Here is the text:

"Thank you for sending me your email opposing SB 59. Hearing from my fellow Californians is very important to me as I work to improve our great state.

"After extensive consideration and thorough deliberation from proponents and opponents of this issue, I have decided to veto this bill. While I share the concern about the criminal use of lost or stolen weapons, the ambiguous manner in which SB 59 was written could result in cases where law-abiding citizens face penalties simply because they were the victim of a crime. To see my veto message for this bill, please visit the Official California Legislative Information website at: www.leginfo.ca.gov.

"Thank you again for writing to me. Your active participation in the democratic process will help ensure a brighter future for California.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger"

So, he is listening. As a long ago preacher once said, "your prayers are always answered but sometimes the answer is 'no'." Well this time, enough prayers were sent so that this time the answer was "Yes!"

He needs some help so he can listen more, in the form of Representatives and Senators who support what he wants do to, or rather what we want them to do.

Yes, I believe they were just commenting on the Governator having just gotten around to sending out emails to everyone. Similar thread, but not quite a dupe.

Sorry. The last entries on the search I ran did not disclose any announcement of a veto, and I haven't seen it before. I did see another one on the Assembly Bill.

How is it that only the last dozen or so threads appear to be available?

Do I need to go to the two week training program in Chicago to learn how all this works?

this is a nice constituent follow up.

they dint just toss your e-mail. After the flurry of bills they signed and vetoed, they are still trying to respond to all of those e-mails they got.

I think thats great customer service.
