AK74 Build

I know alot of people have built AK47s, but has anyone built an AK74 and if so, could you advise on some places to get parts and any other build advice? the only places I know are K-Var and Ohio Rapid Fire. Specifically I was looking for a place that sold 10 round mags

Don't know about the mags, but you can get receivers from Nodak Spud. The parts kits are a little pricey and hard to find, though. If I were you I'd look at a Yugoslavian 223 in about the same price range, then it'd share ammo with your AR. My understanding is that 5.45x39mm (which I think is what it fires) is significantly pricier than 223.

Yep, 5.45x39.

Wolf charges about the same price as for their 7.62 ammo, so it's pretty cheap.

Just buy the complete rifle, a Romanian SAR 2, CUR2, or WASR 2. They are the cheapest AK's around right now. I've heard the 5.45x39 has less recoil than the .223.
