Butler Creek side folding stock, folded. clamp on weaver rail with vertical fore grip. OAL ~28". Basically I'm wondering if having the vertical foregrip will be at odds with the butt-stock folded, to the CA DOJ. I guess a quick visualization I can come up with is i'd be like the Steyr TMP ergonomically, but classified as a rifle and with a rifle length barrel, 18.5" and OAL > 26"

Thanks

you are fine. None of the AW weapon laws apply to the rimfire.

The assualt weapon features only apply to center fire rifles. There is a barrel limitation to be classified as a pistol, which your barrel length exceeds. So, you are good to go from what I can tell by the charts on this forum.

All OK...just keep the 18" long barrel on it to avoid being too short when folded.
