View Full Version : Delta Ring Rotation Wobble?

The delta ring on my AR15 is wobbly, with a left and right rotation of about 1/16 inch. I know this is normal, are the any fixes to lock it up? It's annoying, but not detracting from accuracy or causing damage.
What handguards are you using? I have standard ones and the delta ring is jammed against it pretty tight.

It really shouldn't wobble at all, maybe you've got an damaged weld spring or the snap ring wasn't installed correctly.

Definitely shouldn't wobble at all with the force of the springs in it.

mine has a bit of wiggle only if i mess with it not holding the handguard
i remember this one time i went to a gunsmith because i was concerned how easy it is to remove the safety on a 1911 he said thats normal
you can just pull it straight out pretty easy but it doesn't just fall out you have to want to

I read on ARFcom that sometimes the MOEs are a fraction shorter than standard handguards. I shimmed it with some electrical tape placed where the handguards contact the delta ring, it's tight as can be now.

Another calgunner recently had a similar fix for the wobble in his MOE handguards. He used shims of aluminum foil for a similar result.
