Hi all,
for those NRA members who will be voting now or shortly for the Board of Directors I'd like to quote Gene here from another thread and add my own request for you to vote for Joel Friedman for the position of Director.
Vote for Friedman, and Gaines. Also note that undervoting is very valuable to make our California votes go further.

-Gene

Mr. Friedman is a current CRPA Board of Directors member and has a long history of supporting and advancing 2A rights in California.
In addition, the more NRA Directors representing and from California the more of a voice California will have in the NRA's direction and future.
Not to mention the more benefit we as both gun owners and Calgunners may well have.

Thanks.

Wondering if there are any candidates we shouldn't vote for?

Everyone needs to vote for Joel Friedman. We need to keep up that California representation.

For what it's worth, undervoting if voting for fewer candidates than you are allowed to vote for. Just voting for 2 candidates makes those 2 votes more valuable than including those 2 candidates in a ballot with more votes.

Tommy Gaines is not on my Ballot.

Never mind, apparently his term doesn't expire this time around.

You're right, Mr. Gaines is up next time and will need our help at that time.

This election however, Joel Friedman is who we need to get seated.

So its better for me to vote only for Joel Friedman and no one else? Will do, thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize it made a difference.

yes, your votes are the most powerful in small numbers. Each addtional vote you make "dilutes" the power of your votes.

Please understand that Joel Friedman is not just an NRA Board member but a true gunrights advocate that has a wide range of *political* experience. He's a helluva businessman too.

Joel Friedman also is on the board of the New CRPA. Joel works directly w/lobbyists Ed Worley (NRA) and Tom Pedersen (CRPA) and the CA NRA Liaison to the Exec VP, Paul Payne as well as his fellow NRA Board members from CA, Tommy Gaines and Manny Fernandez.

These guys are also Friends Of Calguns. Gene and I have been thru some Interesting Times with these guys.

Vote Joel. If you vote Joel and nothing else, your vote increases.

Please vote for Joel. It's a bit like having an excellent Senator (something we have little experience with here in California.) But, when you have a good Senator, all sorts of things in DC just get taken care of because that person has the respect of the body in DC. Well, Joel has that respect (fear?) that keeps California issues at the forefront at Waples Mill.

I'm a patron member and I didn't get my voting materials yet? Any idea when these were sent out?

Considering the piles of mail I do get from the NRA (and yes, I always at elast opent hem to confirm if it is junk or not) I am surprised the materials have not reached me.

As mentioned already, the best option [unless you have a strong desire to support additional candidate(s)] is to vote for Joel and only Joel. Please do so if you have the privilege of voting.

For NRA voting members (either Life or above or an Annual member for 5 or more consecutive years), like me, who've canceled their magazine subscriptions (I think you can view them online), to save the NRA money: I called this morning asking when I'll get a ballot. They said they were mailed out last week (21st thru 24th), so they should be arriving late this week or next week.

I'll give them until Tuesday, the 15th. If it doesn't arrive by then, I'll call them again.

He's pretty much a shoe-in, even without your (our) votes(s). I'd be very, very surprised in the Gunny doesn't end up on the board

My vote for Mr. Friedman has been cast. The ballots are in the NRA Issued magazines. Mine was inside of 1st Freedom.

I noticed that Erik Estrada is also on the ballot. Everyone remembers who Ponch is, yeah?

I'm casting for him because I think we need someone from Hollywood on the NRA board. One point Mr. Estrada addresses when asked about Hollywood's "pro-gun on the set" and anti-gun stance off the set, is that he considers it mainly entertainment, and he understands the entertainment aspect of that agenda, and I believe he would bring more of an awareness to the set as far as what the "right" is all about, both on & off the set.

Something I'd like to ask: do we know which, if any, NRA directors candidates support and emphasize mainstream cultural recapture and intervention as a primary goal? We're doing a lot better than we had in previous years, but need to develop further still towards winning permanently.

I did find mine in the magazine. I was on vacation when it came in and it was still un-read in a big pile of mail I haven't had the time to dig through.

Will be sending my ballot in with Joel only marked off.

Mr. and Mrs. TPF are sending in their ballots this morning with only one vote cast for Joel Friedman. I will love seeing Tom Selleck, Lee Ermy, and the other celebrities on there, but they are nearly shoe ins. So my votes for them or anyone else diminish Mr. Friedman's vote.

The only other one I was slightly inclined to vote for was Dennis Demille because I know he is a Marine and a hell of a high power shooter.

It's that time of year again. I just received my ballot in the mail, and it looks like Mr. Friedman is on the ballot again as well.

The purpose of this election is a little confusing. From what I can gather, this election will elect directors for a 3-year term instead of a 1-year term. Is that right?

Friedman and Gaines are the only candidates who are endorsed by the CRPA, and they have a bunch of good work listed in their candidate profiles. I'll return my ballot with only Friedman and Gaines marked. Joel has run for re-election two years in a row now, so getting a 3-year term would be nice for him.
