I just finished my AR15 build, and the bug has already bit me! Decided to pick up another firearm, and I am pretty sure that I have narrowed my search down to two candidates.. I know I am probably going to get biased results by posting this in the centerfire rifle section, but I am a little biased myself, so that works! lol

I have been back and forth about picking up either a new Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm pistol, or a Saiga 7.62x39 from RifleGear. They are both the same price, so it is down to which I am going to have more of a use for, and enjoy more.

Part of me is leaning towards the Sig, because I already have a rifle, and because I have always wanted one.. but I love the AK, and would definitely have a lot of fun with a 7.62. Decisions, decisions... lol

Any other suggestions in the price range of about $400-600 are definitely welcome!

I take it you dont already own a handgun? If not balance it out with the Sig.

Nope.. the AR is the only firearm that I own at the moment. That is why i was kinda leaning towards the Sig..

EDIT: Anyone know of a range in the SFV that has a Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm to rent out? I'd love to fire one before I go out and pick one up..

Go for a Saiga 12ga they could become illegal in Cali at any point, so go for that first.

Before you purchase another firearm, what is your ammo supply like? Can you afford all the factory ammo you want to shoot? If not, get started in reloading. Another gun isn't going to do you any good if you can't afford to shoot as much as you want.

If you simply must purchase a gun then I recommend a pistol since you already own a rifle. However, I'm partial to the Glock 19 and full size 1911's.

First, buy the pistol.
Second purchase a shotgun.
Finally, enter a couple of 3-Gun competitions. I'm tired of laying waste to the same faces at every meet :D

Seeing as though you don't have a handgun I'm changing my answer to getting one first. I would do my research first though the SigPro has a multitude of recent issues

I have a few handguns Ill let you try out. Im in Burbank.

G19
G30sf
M&P9
SA MCO 1911

No sig but the G19 and M&P are close to the same price and IMHO superior handguns.

I sold one of thise sigs shortly after getting it.

I'd recommend a used P226 in 9mm over any other 9mm sig. It should cost about the same as a new plastic sig.

Go to a casino. Put all you money on black (roulette). If you double you money then buy both. If you loose, then it was never meant to be.

I have an Arsenal SGL21 and a Sig SP2022......get the handgun first to round out your collection. You're going to love the trigger!
