View Full Version : Anybody undo their Saiga conversion?

Sounds crazy but I'm thinking I want my magazine to release the way it's supposed to without a bullet tip or tool.

I kept all my factory parts and would need to replace the two larger pins that I had to grind down. I think the bottom plate could be attached with small bolts or new rivets.

Anybody do this?

I'd consider a new one but the prices on Saiga's have jumped a fair bit these last 6 months.

Thanks,
Smitty

there's this grip called a MonsterMan (or solar tactical has those grip wraps)... do you have a muzzle brake on it?

Saigas will be back in their place soon, a container was finally released from customs- so prices should return to normal if you're still considering a new one.

Do a search for "svetlana". You'll see my answer to a featureless AK.

I did the opposite and built a Saiga / AK hybrid from a Romie G kit, but using donated Saiga FCG and stock (shortened), as a solution for a featureless rifle.

IIRC, I used a pair rear trunnion rivets to install the Saiga trigger and transfer bar.

On my phone now, don't know how to. I did the search earlier and it worked fine.

Yes it does. I installed the bullet guide and works perfectly and I didn't need to modify the factory mag. Both Saiga mags and regular AK mags work in it.

OK guys, thanks for the replies. I just can't add a monster grip so I think I'm going to buy another rifle and keep mine the way it is.

Just take the grip off. It isn't that bad kinda like a European stock. You gotta hold it with a gorilla style grip like the old school robinson armament m96 cali carbine. ;)

Featureless, 922r compliant, converted and fun as hell to blast away with.
