To you guys who know something about LR308 (DPMS Pattern) rifles.

What's a good source for quality 24" barrels chambered in 260 Rem? I know DPMS has them for $299 but I don't know about their quality so I would not mind paying more for a high quality barrel.

Yes, I've decided on a 260 Rem so a 308 Win barrel is not an option.

I believe you can order direct from Lilja and Mike Rock. I remember someone mentioning that most high quality barrel MFGs can make a barrel for a AR308 rifle. Just contact them. Price is supposed to be less than what I paid for my Noveske barrel.

If you want to go custom and dont mind waiting (which may not be too long....MAY not be...) then go Rock Creek. They sell profiled blanks so you need to have it drilled, threaded, chambered, bbl extension put on, etc. It will kick *** though.

You could also get an Armalite barrel http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=B10T260&ReturnUrl=Categories2.aspx?Category=7c507152-dc24-48a0-aa95-f7998786f57b

If you do use an armalite barrel, then use an armalite bolt. The barrels can be used for either DPMS or Armalite patterned rifles but since they headspace differently just make sure to use the same type of bolt (DPMS with DPMS and Armalite with Armalite).

Ain't that the truth! haha. Mainly questions regarding they have them listed under ar10/dpms so I asked him if it was armalite or lr308 compatible he said lr-308. Then he told me he makes BCGs for .308 also but its not on the site so I am trying to get it priced out.

I checked the site and those are good prices from what I've seen elsewhere. What I couldn't find is how they're rifled. Are they button rifled? Anyone shoot one of these?

I checked them out earlier and all they list is 16", 18" and 20" barrels in 260 Rem.

I'll email them.
