I know that it is machined into the BCG and the barrel extension, but what if on the off chance something is off how does one check?

It seems a go/no go gauge would not work the same as it would on a bolt gun?

How do people check this? This is just my curiosity as I am about to buy my .308 barrel.

If I chose to go with Rainier they will headspace the bolt and barrel. If I chose blackhole weaponry and a bolt from JSE then how do I check headspace?

They make go/no go gauges to check this. You need to remove the ejector which can be a pain if you don't have 4 hands. I believe they make some where you can check with the ejector still in but im not sure. If you buy a barrel from a reputable source you are most likely fine, but it is possible to check for own piece of mind. Quite a few guides floating around on this. Google ftw.

It is exactaly the same as a bolt action...strip the bolt down, insert the gauge, and by hand move the bolt carrier forward and see if the bolt will rotate into battery. Where are you located, I have a full range of .308 gauges.
