A friend of mine wants to get an AR at a reasonable price and asked me about the Del Ton rifles. I don't know anything about them. Has anyone here had any experience with these?

Despite what many here say about them (enter BCM fanboys), Del-Ton's are great rifles for the price. I have put 3-4K rounds through mine with zero issues. It has also been through a couple Nevada trips where I put 6-800 rounds through it in an afternoon, without a single hiccup. Can't go wrong with them.

I just ordered one on the 11th, like everyone has said already, they're a good rifle for the price. I have personally not heard anything bad about them, also all reviews on the rifle kits support that as well with 5 stars based on 50 reviews. However, the wait on these rifle kits is quite awhile. I called them today and they still told me another week or so till it ships.

While I agree with pretty much what everyone else says...

I did have problems with one kit I got. The chamber was cut poorly and left a ring/ridge around the neck of the cartridge. Extraction marks were also present. I will say that the carbine did fire and extract normaly.

It took the third barrel to finally get what was right. Customer service was fantastic, shipping was paid by them. You just have to understand that anything machined from any manufacturer can have problems. It's how they handle the problem is what counts.

Would I buy another? Yes!

Never had a issue with my M4 16" kit.
Put it on a S&W lower.

Great kit for the price

Del-Ton is a great way to go. I built my rifle with a Del-Ton kit.

However you get what you pay for. There are cons, some of the parts don't fit very well. For example my pistol grip doesn't fit my lower right and creates a sharp edge against which my finger sits.

The trigger break and reset blows as well.

But it's reliable, I just put another few hundred rounds through it today, zero issues.

Obligitory rifle shot.

They have had issues delivering orders in a timely fashion.

I canceled my last order after waiting for something like 8-9 months.

I have 1000+ rounds through mine. Fit Smith and Wesson lower perfectly, durable finish. works flawlessly. Carrier key is properly staked. Mine came in about a week. I should put a pic up, what a sweet rifle.

No problems with mine, 3K rounds, flawless. I would buy another, no hesitation to use in dire conditions. M4forgery with Delton lower. my 2cents
