The .300 RCM (http://www.rifleshootermag.com/ammunition/RS_0108_01/index.html) has only been out a year but it looks like a great cartridge for Elk, Moose, Bear.

Got my eye on this http://www.ruger.com/products/m77HawkeyeAllWeather/models.html

But was hoping for some feedback on real world expirience.

If you get one you better stock up on brass. Not sure that one will survive much longer and I have one acquired through a deal that was too good to pass up.

It's a dead end cartridge. Ruger will chamber it for a few more years but no one else will and it will disappear.

I suspect the .300 RCM will go the same route as the .45 GAP.

Surprissing considering all the positive reviews I'm finding. Oh well,, if I do snag one I have lots of storage for brass. :)

Muzzle blast is FIERCE! from the powder used and the short barrel.

You will find positive reviews on every new cartridge that is introduced. Especially on websites and magazines that host advertizing.

Ain't that the sad truth....
