Good Afternoon, All,

I am in the market for a CA legal AR and I have developed a list of questions to pose to the group, so I'm hoping that you all might be able to chime in and help me out:

(1) I am considering an LMT lower with two-stage trigger and collapsible stock coupled with a Stag Arms 2H upper as a the basis for my system. Does anyone have any experience with this combination? I've never pieced together a firearm with mixed components like this before and I want to ensure that there will not be any feeding, extracting, etc. issues with this combination.

(2) Are there advantages/disadvantages to purchasing the upper and lower halves together and from the same manufacturer?

(3) What sort of accuracy should be possible from this setup at 100 yds? Obviously, there are a lot of variables here, but what is this firearm capable of both with factory and handloads?

(4) Are there any higher quality barrels available that are 16" CA legal? I understand that the barrel must have the suppressor integrated and not threaded, so I suppose that will greatly limit the options...?

(5) Any other thoughts or suggestions on this combination?

Thank you,

Tim

1) sorry no
2) only one place to contact for warrenty
3) good to exellent
4) limitless on match grade barrel choices. A 16" barrel does not need to have the FH or MB permenantly attached. Theaded OK 16" / 14.5" will need the FH to be perm for the 16" requirment.
5) study the flow chart.

You have a lot to learn. Try searching, there's probably 5-10 threads on the first page of this section that will answer most of these questions.

Use this flow chart when you are building the gun to make sure it is legal.

Here is some legal documents from local PD saying these rifles are legally if configured with the above chart

Thanks for the great links! Still hoping to come across someone that has paired an LMT lower with a Stag upper to hear about reliability.
