Could I just replace the receiver on my Casar as a quick fix, or is it not even worth it? I haven't had very many problems with mine, but considering picking up a few Nodak receivers and wondered if this would be worth it.

Thoughts?

Quick fix to what? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Not necessarily as a quick fix but rather a way to build my own without purchasing another parts kit. Would a new receiver be compatible?

Yes. An NDS-1 or NDS-3 from Nodak would be compatible.

Yes, the CASAR is built from mil-surp Romanian parts, so the two trunnion rivet patterns will be compatible with the NodakSpud NDS-3 or any receiver flat compatible with a Romanian fixed stock AK.

To be honest, if your CASAR works, leave it alone, because you will be a couple of hundred $$ out of pocket if you use your CASAR as a parts kit, over actually buying a parts kit. You would be better off selling the CASAR and using the money to buy a parts kit plus a receiver and other build parts.
