View Full Version : My Tactical Frog Gig (with photos)

Numerous people have now asked me to show photos of my creation so here it is. With the lapse of the AW Ban it seems like everything and I literally mean everything is going tactical. All knives are now "Tactical Survival" knives and Mossberg is making a "Tactical Turkey" gun... what next? So I decided why shouldn't frog gigs go tacticool too ;) !

Basically I took a telescopic painting pole from Home Depot and then drilled it and installed a frog gig head. Next I drilled several sets of holes down the length of the pole to make the "stock" collapsable. I finished by using green and black Rustoleum spray paint to add camo.

The "stock" adjusts through the use of a wing nut and bolt which are removed and then re-inserted into each hole to achieve the desired length. The pole collapses to just 50 inches and expands to 92 inches. It's also made of aluminum and very light weight adding to the accuracy of those longer range stabs.

Did I also mention that the tines on the gig head are replaceable :D? Just in case a tine breaks on a rock or other underwater object all it takes is a phillips screw driver to replace the tine and make the gig good as new.
