Show Your Pride in CRPA!

Your CRPA and CRPA Foundation now have electronic banners available that can be added to your electronic signature or posted on your website. CRPA has been working hard on your behalf in its lobbying efforts, litigation battles, and management operation. Please show your pride in CRPA and its efforts by copying, posting and displaying these electronic banners proudly.

On a daily basis, our full-time lobbyist in Sacramento fights against anti-gun and anti-hunting legislation along side the NRA. The CRPA lobbyist meets with pro-gun legislators from both parties to introduce new pro-gun and pro-hunting bills and to enlist their support to help in the ongoing fight against the anti-gun/anti-hunting lobby. As you may recall, the CRPA Lobbying program was completely updated, revised, and re-staffed in July 2009 creating a far more effective, results-oriented program.

For decades the NRA and CRPA have been litigating cases in California courts to promote the right to self-defense and the 2nd Amendment. In the post Heller and McDonald legal environment, NRA and CRPA Foundation have formed the NRA/CRPA Foundation California Legal Action Project (LAP), a joint venture to pro-actively strike down ill-conceived gun control laws and ordinances and advance the rights of firearms owners, specifically in California. Sometimes, success is more likely when LAP's litigation efforts are kept low profile, so the details of every lawsuit are not always released.

In addition to lawsuits, seventeen years ago the NRA and CRPA joined forces to fight local gun bans being written and pushed in California by the gun ban lobby. Their coordinated efforts became the NRA/CRPA "Local Ordinance Project" (LOP) - a statewide campaign to fight ill conceived local efforts at gun control and educate politicians about available programs that are effective in reducing accidents and violence without infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners. The NRA/CRPA LOP has had tremendous success in beating back most of these anti-self-defense proposals. To see a partial list of the LAP's recent accomplishments, or to contribute to the NRA or to the NRA/CRPAF LAP and support this and similar Second Amendment cases, visit www.nra.org (http://www.nra.org) and www.crpafoundation.org (http://crpafoundation.org).

Your CRPA and CRPA Foundation continues to improve their overall operation and effectiveness. In addition to better coordinating our, "left, right, one, two punch of lobbying and litigation,” we’ve improved the interaction of our organization with the NRA and all other major pro-Second Amendment organizations serving California. Membership has been stabilized, financial management has been improved, and the use and allocation of member resources has been better focused on those activities which will produce the greatest return. Your CRPA Foundation is proud to be the sole funding source and one of the lead plaintiffs in the recent victory over AB 962 (the Ammo Registration Bill).

Cool!!!!

I can tell you that from what I know right now - it's a darn good investment. I think you are going to start seeing CRPA become the social/fun arm of the grassroots.

They will still DO the exact same good work that they've been doing - but their focus will be to get folks together.

We kind of lack that "thing" right now - and based on my experience doing parties and stuff - it really looks like a LOT of good comes out of the sort of fun networking that happens when people meet each other face-to-face!!!
