Hello all,

Great forum,,,,,been reading for about 2 weeks and finally registered.

I am not really new to guns (LEO for last 17 years) but realizing that I still have a lot to learn. I am in the Bay Area and recently visited the Coyote Point Shooting Range. I fired a friends rimfire pistol and I had a blast. It fueled the fire to do some more target shooting. Coyote Point only allows rimfire pistols, but all kinds of rifles.

I am currently looking to buying a .22 pistol and rifle, before moving on to a bigger evil black gun :) .

Thanks for all of the great available information.

Welcome to Calguns. If you are familiar with a 1911 then you may want to check out the Ruger 22/45 pistol.

Welcome to the forum. Rimfire is defiantly fun to shoot and cheap as well.

I bought my wife one of these:

Now when we go to the range, my wife, my sons, and myself all want to grab it to shoot. Great little guns, tons of fun, and inexpensive to shoot.

Thanks Bob. I was thinking just like you, until I actually held a 22/45. I really didn't like the grip. I know I could probably find a slip-on grip that would feel better, but after comparing both (Mark III & 22/45) the M3 just felt better. Go figure?

Welcome eddydb. I wondered about the addictive nature of the shooting sports. Go to the range and have "fun", first thing; you are...."hooked" on it.
