Would a BB be required for a AR 57 upper, if someone mounted it to a RAW lower?

Wow, really?

No, it's already a regard AW so it can'T get any more evil at least in the AW domain.

Now, there is the separate issue of 10rd magazine availability..

It's great to have a RAW lower available.

Indeed! I keep hearing that CalGuns has a solution to that problem... I'm patient.

If AR57s use standard PS90 mags, 10 round FN mags are readily available.

If they happened to have been assembled or imported more than three years ago, you're through the statute of limitations on unlawful assembly and/or importation.

You'd probably still lose them if a cop identified them but I suspect you'd have a pretty good defense if a DA tried to make a case.

AR57 uses a very unusual magazine. 50 rounds that lay across the top of the rifle receiver:

The rounds progress horizontally towards the breech and then rotate into alignment with the bore:

Yeah. Sorry. Read your comment as "10 round FNFiveSeven mags".

Thanks Bill.

That's what i thought. Somehow i can see DOJ coming to a different conclusion. As far as the 10rd mags go.......... i just heard on the news this morning that legislation has been introduced to ban magazines that hold more that 10rds. It's 1994 again.

Except this time we have a pro-gun majority in the House, a 50/50 split in the Senate, pro-gun leadership in both, and a president who's scared to death of being perceived as a gun grabber. The usual suspects are making their noises, but it ain't going anywhere.

They can wait 2 more years to see if the balance shifts in the next election. They'll start the ball rolling now.

You could go featureless and just use the ten round mags.

Why go featureless on a RAW?

I've toyed with the idea, but not yet bought an upper...I even have half a dozen or so 50 round mags.

I want one, but I'm literally taking the bread out of my mouth with gun buying.
It'll be my first upper purchase. Won't have enough money until May.
Do you like the five seven round? or have a pistol too?

On a non AW, feature build it has to be BB'd, you ever been hassled about the open magazine well at the bottom becoming the ejection port?

I want 57centers 11", who makes yours? How much was it?

My brother has one. It's a fun gun. No recoil to speak of. Expensive ammo with all the pro and cons of the 5.7 round. Some of his aftermarket magazines are very flakey but the factory ones are solid. He turned an old USGI magazine into a brass catcher which is kind of cool.

It needs a happy switch and a suppressor. Since he lives in a free state he'll take custody of the cans I've currently got hanging out in ATF form 4 limbo ... but what it really needs is FA.

I wish i had the $$$ to buy an upper right now, but i'm currently working on a AR 10 build in 6.5 Creedmoor.
