Hello, I've done some searching on the forum but out of the bits and pieces i've found i haven't gotten a clear idea.

1. I figure that the rules for building a .22LR pistol are the same as building a 5.56 pistol?

2. Also i've read that you can convert a pistol to a rifle and back without any issues (but you CANT convert a rifle to a pistol and back). Is that true?

3. So i could build a .22LR AR pistol out of a 80% lower, then when i want to use it as a carbine, i can attach a stock and a 16"+ upper to it and use it as a .22LR rifle? When I'm done shooting it as a rifle i can swap the uppers back and remove the stock and it's a pistol again. Is that right?

I own a standard AR rifle already. Thanks for any help clearing this up.

Once a pistol is turned into a rifle it is forever more now a rifle and you can not turn it back into a pistol.

You are better off with 2 lowers.
