Hey Scott, I had a question for you. When I was comparing the Viper and Vortex binoculars, I couldn't tell a difference in glass quality.

For the scopes, is this the same? I know there is a lot more to a rifle scope than just the glass quality. Is the tracking as good, features etc?

The reason I am asking this is because I have a Vortex Razor and want to know if it is actually worth the extra price tag?

Thanks Scott,
Isaac

Isaac,

I assume you mean the Viper and Razor binos. Yes, I find the Viper is very comparable to the Razor. They are both made in the same factory.

As for the scopes, the Razor is the cream of the crop for Vortex and is worth the extra dough over the Viper. Made in different factories, to different specs, the materials, tolerances, engineering and overall quality of the Razor is way ahead of the Viper, which is itself a very nice scope for the money

Thanks Scott. I guess I'll keep my Razor scope then.

Good call. If you have a 2010 model you can upgrade the ocular housing for free this spring
